What-

This is impossible! This is unfair. You're tellling me I can't- [The writing cuts off aburptly and ends in a large splotch of ink.]

Ridiculous. Utterly...

Is this Paradisa's work?

Mahaado's ideas! He must be right, or at least what I'm THINKING must be right, Paradisa is-

[Again the ink cuts off, somewhat more violently. Below that is a series of words, all crossed out, and a few incredibly angry scribbles and false starts.]

.. ugh. I KNEW this place wasn't-

[And again. The ink not only cuts off violently, it turns a deep crimson, like blood.]

.. bugger.

I HATE this place! I hate it! It's cruel and spiteful and HATEFUL!
Everything that it does for us that seems fun or kind is just...I don't know what it is but I think this place ENJOYS suffering. Thank you, castle for torturing me. Thanks. I really appreciate it. WHY CANT YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!? What is your PROBLEM?!
What did I do to you other than smash a vase and kick the wall?! Seriously. Let me mope in peace.

Hi everyone~ hope you're alright!

Um, I should have said something about this before, got a little caught up in things but better late than never right?

Thank you for those roses.

It appears that I will be here for a while. I suppose I should make the best of it. Unless trouble starts, I will have a lot of time to practice my ninjutsu.

So you can talk to the castle and ask it for things? That's nice to know. I couldn't leave my room for two days because I ran out of hair gel.
I'm beginning to think that this castle isn't as bad as it seems. I mean really, I was about to fail a history test before I... arrived here. And now I can sit around, talk to random people, and eat all I want. What more could I ask for?

[Walks away from the paper, distracted by his not not having to do anything.... and comes back]

I wish Honda or Jou were here. They do make life more interesting. Especially making fun of dear Katsuya. I remember this time when I made a bet with him and he ended up having to wear a dog costume for a day. [scratches head] I don't remember what the bet was about though...

The masquerade was... Pretty. I've never seen so many people in one place before. I'm sorry I left before really saying hello to anyone. I guess I just felt a bit overwhelmed. It was nice while I was there, though.

I found sketchbooks in the library. They're filled with pictures of animals--real ones, not dolls at all. And there were so many of them. I think... I'd like to see them all one day. I wonder how long it would take.

There were even a few that I don't recognize. Like... "Kelpie." It looked nice and kind of like a horse, but I think it's actually a monster. There are dragons and werewolves too, but I didn't know they were real. Where I come from, they're just stories.

...? There's a cat in my room. Where did it come from?

{ catches onomatopoeia of Sue meowing, and the cat meowing back. there's a few distracted dots on the page, and then some doodled musical notes }

The birds sing a song in a foreign tongue,
a place where wings are not enough.
A place not reachable alone.

So take me someplace far from here...

Does anyone have a radio?
[identity profile] vorpaldance.livejournal.com
{a few small paragraphs written in very messy Chinese; mostly about shamanic powers and over souls. A big ying-yang is doodled on the side.}

Horohoro - I saw your message. I have come to the same conclusion. The villagers refuse to speak as well.

I swear, don't you people have anything to do all day besides babble pointlessly in this thing?

I do have an important question to ask however ... How many of you are shamans or have witnessed shamanic power? I am curious to see how many of these 'other worlds' have such things.

And one last thing, for anyone that cares about my opinion (which you should); that Masquerade business was pointless. Whoever is running this ridiculous place did not show and it was frivolous. Whoever spiked the punch is an idiot.

Genis is here. I'm glad.

[insert here a bunch of scribbles, mostly in chicken scratch. Upon further inspection they seem to be notes with citations... and LOTS of them. On the side, there are little sketches of some things, her interpretations of modern appliances, likely. There is also a little picture of a stick figure kicking a shorter one]

[In relatively neater and legible writing]

"A lie that everyone believes really isn't a lie anymore." f2r12, clgkp.2, ch3p.92

[more quotes, citations, and sketches, but relatively illegible]

Interesting.

[The page is soaked in deep red ink. It is nearly indistinguishable from blood. There is so much of it that the page drips, slightly.

In the one very tiny, still undamaged corner:]

Sasuke.

If you want your clothes back, you're going to have to come and get them, hehe. And if you think you can threaten with throwing away my clothes, think again. While you stepped out of your room today, I went and took them back. Tough luck, jerk.

It has been terribly rude of me not to have written sooner, in case you have been worried of my condition, but I have taken escape to the outdoors and riding across the beautiful surrounding landscape. Staring at the same stone walls each day did nothing for my well being and sleep has been particularly disturbed. It feels much less a prison from the outside, though reality is difficult to ignore for long. I have returned for the meantime.

Since arriving I have explored the castle extensively and have oriented myself to proper locations, but I admit to be highly concerned upon my various findings. Assistance in the matter would be most appreciated.

[Detailed sketches of a microwave, a refrigerator, a light switch, an electric socket, a toaster, and a curling iron.]

What are these unusual objects and what is their purpose?

Most Curiously,
Sir Griffith

Where I come from, it would be considered quite bad manners to discuss a gracious host's unbecomings and dark secrets at the dinner table, especially when the host is sitting right next to you. Just as well that things may be kept quiet, as some bits and pieces of shattered glass may not suit the works. Imagine finding a bit of glass in your tea-cup one morning as you decide to read this lovely little adventure of ours~

Considering, but of course, you'd have to know when morning is. And if you do I must congratulate you, as you'd be one-two-three-four-five-six steps ahead of myself.

I have a riddle for you all (and I honestly do have an answer this time, I promise):

A stick I found that weighed two pound:
I sawed it up one day
In pieces eight of equal weight!
How much did each peice weigh?

{ written in very small letters near the bottom, looks like it was added on as a last-minute thought }

(Everybody says "a quarter of a pound", which is wrong.)

It seems as if some have come to a discovery, but it is impossible to understand them. The journals themselves are starting to remove messages and harm residents. The town citizens don't make sense at all.

This does not bode well.

I ended up dead twice in a situation like this. Is he here? [can be read if the reader strains his eyes to try to read]

O--Oh... I noticed a lot of people are getting hurt.. But I can heal! So please, if you're hurt, please come to my room, Room 1414. There's a little bit of plants growing into my room from another, but I don't mind!

I'll be happy to heal your wounds! Everyone's!

It seems some of us have put our noses in places something didn't think they belonged in. My list of missing things has been taken. Even if I made another one, I'm sure the same thing would happen. This is annoying the {a large blood red colored splatter is here}

{recorded cursing of a vivid nature}

I think it's time I took my own advice and stopped trying to talk about certain things through the journal.

I'm getting sick of this fruitless investigation...

I wonder...

The castle doesn't mind violence between the occupants, but what of genocide?

Would it stand back or would it interfere? Would it kill the one who was doing it? Would it stop them as they planned it? Would it leave them alone? Would it help?

Hm.

Certainly is something to think about, isn't it? ♥

Let's hope no one like me experiments~! [Crossed out, but legible if you look hard enough]

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
