You know, I was so distracted by the expedition we took to Libet, I completely forgot about my own birthday. It's not even a big deal here, I guess. Nobody ever looks any older... And I don't even know what the drinking laws are in Paradisa. But back home, 21-years-old is kind of a big deal.

I think Chloe probably would have planned something...unique. And something we'd both end up regretting.

...It's...interesting to think about spending a year here...and knowing you've spent even more time and can't remember. If I were to remember, would that make me even older? Would it change the way I feel about people? Or about myself? It's the experience that carries the age, not the appearance.

Unfortunately that would also mean I'd have to remember even more Christmases here, and going by some journal entries regarding past kisses, I'm not so sure I want to.

I'm heading out on the expedition. While the idea of upsetting a tomb is not a great one [ Been THERE before... ] I think my curiosity's getting the best of me. And with the crystals that Flora sent us, I can actually make use of my camera out there for once.

I'm not sure how long we'll be gone, but if someone could stop by my place to feed Shadow and let him out occasionally, I'd really appreciate it. I'm in the lobby now with everyone else if you want to say goodbye properly.

I'll try to bring back souvenirs.

Because he didn't have all that much room at his residence, Wes had keep his invitation to his friends only. However, he knew that Caritas had better facilities for dealing with larger numbers of people and fully intended to lend a hand there to make sure other people were settled and taken care of.

He'd gone into town to stock up on what he felt he needed to prepare for more people staying with him, but being the man that he was, he probably missed some items in terms of what was prioritised.

Having had a place all to himself for months now (save Spike staying over), it was going to be strange living with people in close proximity again. Wes prayed that the current crisis would be a mercifully temporary one.

Clark says the castle's officially given everyone the boot. Considering how cold it's getting, since Autumn hasn't wasted any time, I'd be remiss if I didn't offer my place to anyone who needs a warm place to sleep tonight. [Lucky you, Paradisa, you get double trouble today in the form of two BA Smallville ladies coming at you live. Lois’ familiar fast-talk starts them off.]

Alright, ladies and gents, this is your Paradisa Eye in the Sky with some officially weird behavior out in the city proper. I’m pretty sure it’s not normal for them to get up, grab their Sunday paper, and then decide to march out of their neighborhoods to form up in an old school impromptu parade through town.

[Lana’s voice cuts in flatly, ten shades of lineface.]

Mob. That’s what it is: a mob.

[Look, Lois was trying to be colorful, that’s all. But fiiiine, she can be a little more direct.]

Ok, so maybe parade might not be the best choice of words. Though I have to say they’ve at least cut back on the cliche pitchforks and torches motif.

It seems pretty obvious that Legato is doing this, going off what we know, so he must be around here somewhere. I suggest somebody find him.

[ ooc; Since Lois and Lana have their ways of being awesome spies, this is just a little precursor to the actual Legato & Joshua fight post which should take place directly after this, so this isn’t actually going to change much given the time-frame. If you wanted your character to fight Legato, this is their kick in the pants! ]

RATING PG. Mild violence.

Wes had acquired the training equipment he felt he needed, but he still was a bit nervous about their appointment. It had been over half a year since he'd trained anyone. He was likely to be rusty. But still, Lana had seemed determined to learn and he had been flattered that she'd asked him to help her to improve her field combat skills.

With everything that the Castle threw at them and people such as Damon and Riful causing trouble, Wes was glad to show Lana more ways to protect and defend herself from attack and also to bring the fight to them if she had to.

He moved to look at the clock on the mantelpiece. It was one of Mr. Pembleton's. She would be here soon. Absently he rubbed at his right wrist, it had been troubling him that morning, but he'd probably just slept on it strangely.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
