Mar. 9th, 2007 01:44 amEverybody okay? Here's hoping the rest of the castle gets to stay in one piece for a while~
Hey, Allen, can I sleep with you again till my room's fixed? Unless the same thing happened to yours. Then we gotta figure out something else, huh?
How's your room, Yuu? Looks like Red wanted to know where you were, and seeing as you're on the same floor as me... You didn't get squashed or anything, right?

It asked me "What is the color of night?"
I responded "Darker than the eyes of Sithis," and this figure was pleased. If it were Sithis, would I not be reprimanded?
Afterall, the correct answer is: "Sanguine, my brother." Every assassin knows this.
Well, thank goodness nothing happened to my room. It sounds like a lot of people are having to find new lodgings.Although it is rather lonely here.
My main problem is the lack of kitchen. What exactly are we expected to do without one?
Uuuungh...[Journal records little coughs and and sneezes] I don't feel good at all...
Nyaa...I tried staying at Atama ga ii's room last night. And she FED me. Uuuungh. It was disgusting...I'm never eating her food again! Bleeeech! I should've just went to cannibalism...
Can I stay at someone else's place for a while? I don't wanna go back to my ro-[coughing and hacking a bit] room...It's lonely. Uuun.
[OOC: By the way. By tomorrow everyone's rooms should be healed and back to normal. No debris no falling walls/ceilings not even messed up wall paper.]

Attention to the people of Cair Paradisa:
Mar. 9th, 2007 03:02 pmWe would like to suggest something called Cair Paradisa Volunteer Committee: a congregation of people working to protect the residents of Paradisa and, in turn, help prevent further catastrophe such as the past events.
This program, as the title suggests, is completely voluntary. People who join will aid in patrolling the castle, report any signs of suspicious activity and take action against those who wish to disturb the peace.
Rewards and payment will not be given for those who aid, as we find it difficult to give something that the castle can probably grant for free. This, however, is subject to change as time goes on.
Those who volunteer will be asked to partake in a confidential interview with us (Selphie T. and Leon L.) This interview will allow us a look at level of competence and reliability in those who wish to help.
If you are not prepared to speak with us of past experiences and all angles of your battle techniques (important information in order to make these patrols and the organization, in general, stronger and more efficient) then we ask you to please not waste our time. We will be asking questions that may seem intrusive.
Also, please bear in mind that we reserve the right to turn down those who we find do not meet the standards required to partake in this program.
If you have any questions or comments, write them in response to this journal entry.
If you would like to join, leave a response with your first and last name. We will respond to you in a timely fashion and set up an interview date.
For those who cannot fight, don't be discouraged from joining! There is plenty of work to be done by those who have more brainpower than muscle power.
Love and peace,
Selphie T.
CPVC President
Leon L.
CPVC Vice-President.
The Paradisa naughty police
Mar. 9th, 2007 04:05 pmNot that I disagree with it on a basic level or anything so don't get the wrong idea.
I think what you all are doing is a good thing and your hearts are really in the right place. I was tempted to join up for a moment since brain power (and average brain power at that) is all I've got going for me.
But then I began to think (shocking, I know) when I saw a comment about diciplinary action. With this guard there will of course be a time when someone is to be diciplined for what they've done and/or are doing. This is where I start to have a little bit of an issue with the idea.
Paradisa has a comparitively small amount of people in it. It's controlled by whatever unseen force that we generally just blame on the castle. If there is to be diciplinary action then one must assume that there is going to be some...organization behind this. This organization is the birthplace of bureaucracy and bureaucracy is in a way the birthplace of government.
The idea of a governing body in Paradisa kind of disturbs me a little. Government is corrupt. Even the most pure and well intentioned government will BECOME corrupt. This is the truth of things. This is fact. When positions of power come into being corruption follows closely behind, no matter how efficiently the body in power is run. With some of the people that are in residence here and the power that they hold a little bit of corruption could go a very long way. Could be a disaster, actually.
These are of course not immediate concerns and the thoughts are little more than half formed in my head. I'm just a bit of a natural worrier and the most well intentioned creations can turn into monsters.
/end thoughtful rambling
Just for reference: I'm not protesting the formation of the force.

Mar. 9th, 2007 07:29 pmHmm. [Pen taps.]
Seems like a couple of people are talking about government and police forces and stuff. Considering everything that's happened lately, I can't say I'm surprised. There's been enough destruction and bad things...
and we all kinda like to have a government, right? People may break 'em, but laws give everyone a guideline. A set of rights and wrongs that mean we don't have to judge for ourselves what's good or bad.
hmf...
Can't say I like the idea of a government here. In fact, I think it's a bad idea.
[A pause. The journal faintly records her saying "NO, Chizuru, I will NOT fluff your pillow! How d'you expect me to do that with ONE HAND, ANYWAY? shut up before I throw you out the window. ... YES, WITH ONE HAND."]
.. anyway.
I think it's a bad idea for a couple reasons. One is that I think it'd chafe in a place like this. People are gonna end up rebelling just for the sake of rebelling. And people will try to usurp it just for the sake of usurping it or just their own hunger for power.
Also, despite all the bad things that happened recently, normal life in the castle is pretty smooth. doesn't seem to me like it's all too often that "disciplinary action" is even necessary. Besides, who's to say what punishment's fair? Some people here come from really harsh worlds where I'm sure you could get killed just for saying something. It's just too different.
And there is NO WAY a king or something would work. One person? In charge of all this? Sure it works when you've got a country or nation or something where everyone comes from the same place, the same history, with all the same traditions and culture and stuff.... but EVERY SINGLE PERSON HERE comes from a different world, with totally different ideas of justice and right and wrong! No way can one person match up to all that.
So yeah. Sorry for rambling, but government's just a bad idea for this place, plain and simple.
Not saying there shouldn't be ANYTHING.. some sort of organization would be good, right? Like I said, laws are guidelines. I've got a few ideas myself, but I'm not gonna go parading them around, cuz I don't think I'm right exactly. It'd be arrogant to think I was.
So what I'm sort of saying is.. I dunno. I think whoever's interested in organization of some sort - rules or laws - well, I wanted to get a sort of meeting together of anyone who wants to discuss the issue. Not official or anything, no appointing or regulating or any of that stuff. Just a discussion to pool ideas! The more input the better, I think, because each person will have something to add that the others won't have thought of.
Anyone else want to try this? I was thinking we could meet in the library if anyone actually wanted to.
So.. yeah. That's it.
((OOC: sorry this is so long x_x))

Someone willed it to be and so it was.
Then the light triumphed and the worlds were restored. The temporary residents were returned to their rightful homes. The in-between began to fade and the gateways were locked. The world was left a ghost town, filled only with weak links of memory. Useless, as a noun, being or having no beneficial use; futile or ineffective.
Balance is an inevitable factor. That which takes is taken from.
The world eventually blinked out of existence.
Theory: all worlds are in the process of being destroyed.
If both sides of the key are trapped here, who will repair the damage?
There were the others, but they're little more than whispers of the past and present. Unreliable at best.
Your differences are possibly irrelevant. No unity, all denial and lies.
A lot of lies.
And I apologize for the negativity. Spent the past few hours digging through rubble to find my journal and right after I located it, the room... for lack of a better term, restored itself. Thank you, Cair Paradisa, for your horrible timing.
