Thread: As happy as a clam? [Ravi, Kanda, Allen]

Who: Ravi ([livejournal.com profile] bookmansjunior), Kanda ([livejournal.com profile] to_dark), later- Allen ([livejournal.com profile] save_the_souls)
What: Waking up without any snark
When: Morning after the menos attack
Where: Kanda's room 218
Rating: Pg-13ish?

...Kanda woke up that morning. It should not have been like any other mornings and indeed it was not. Well, except for the fact a little sleepover had taken place in his room last night. Kanda knew... he knew he should feel annoyed that these idiots had... but all he could think about- or indeed enjoy?- was the close proximity of the body he was currently cuddling. Yes, he was cuddling it, curled against it, arms tightly secured around the redhead sleeping in the middle of the bed.

And he felt... good. Happy.

Yawning, Kanda pulled away to lift himself up a little to check up on Ravi and give Allen a glance too. They seemed alright despite everything last night.

...That was good.

Without another thought Kanda returned to his previous spot, snuggling closer again and sighing contently.

Posting order for reference: Allen, Ravi, Kanda- repeat. XD

Ravi was lying on his stomach, still asleep. There wasn't enough space left in the bed to move around that much, but somehow he had managed to end up with his limbs draped across whatever happened to be under them now anyway. One of his arms had landed on Kanda at some point, so when Kanda moved, Ravi stirred, waking up just enough to notice that the warm comfortable feeling that had been there was starting to go away. Not fully awake yet, he mumbled something in protest and automatically tightened his hold on the other. That seemed to fix it. Ravi rolled onto his side, letting his other arm join the first, as if to make sure that things would stay that way, and pulled Kanda even closer before he began to settle back into deeper sleep.

But then he woke up. His eyepatch had slipped a bit, so he adjusted it and rubbed his uncovered eye. Lowering his hand, Ravi glanced down at what he was holding clasped against himself. His gaze fell on dark hair - the top of Kanda's head.

... Was he going to die? If he tried to move now, would Kanda wake up, whip out Mugen and run him through on the spot? They were practically curled up against each other, after all, and Kanda's arms were wrapped around him. And, as far as he knew, Kanda hadn't been drunk yesterday and wasn't drunk now. Kanda probably wasn't going to like waking up to finding himself in a position like this (again), especially when he hadn't seemed that thrilled about sharing his room, either.

Allen was here, right? But it was quiet, so Allen had to be asleep still, too. Besides, it wasn't like that was going to keep Kanda from getting mad and slicing him up. If anything, maybe it'd make it worse. Ravi didn't think Kanda would cut him any slack if he told him he still wasn't feeling that great, either.

Yup, he was a goner.

Well, he'd make the most of his final morning in this world. Cuddling, accidental or not, wasn't anything to complain about. It felt pretty good, so he was going to let it last for as long as possible. But just lying here and counting the seconds until Mugen made an appearance wasn't a lot of fun. Ravi reached over and took hold of Kanda's hair, idly braiding the sleek strands together.

Ravi realized that Kanda was in fact awake and looking at him. His fingers paused in what they were doing as he offered the other boy a grin, in spite of readying himself for having to move off the bed pretty fast if he wanted to keep all his limbs attached.

No Mugen yet, though, so it looked like he was safe for now. That had to be a pretty good sign - maybe Kanda was willing to let this slide for once after all.

Ravi's grin widened. "Morning, Yuu," he greeted pleasantly.

Wait. Was that...? No way, right? That looked like a--

Ravi gaped at Kanda. The guy was smiling at him. Smiling, not smirking in a 'you're going to taste Mugen, idiot' kind of way. And he was still holding onto him. No Mugen, no elbow to the stomach, no smack to the head. Nothing like that, just Kanda smiling and then leaning closer and brushing their noses together.

For a moment, Ravi wondered if this was actually some kind of weird dream. He didn't feel dizzy or anything like that anymore, lying down, but who knows. Still, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad dream - in fact, this wasn't so bad at all - just really weird.

Unfortunately, he was pretty sure he was wide awake now. But hey, for the time being, it didn't look like it was going to hurt anyone if he played along. Ravi smiled at Kanda and finished braiding his hair before he let his arms return to their original position.

Ravi grinned. "Yup, feeling just fine, Yuu," he replied. "Having more pillows must've helped."

This was starting to get a little unnerving, though. Kanda was still smiling and being... playful now? And he still wasn't getting mad at him for braiding his hair this time round. Maybe playing along was going to be harder than he'd thought.

Actually, this was starting to get more worrying than anything else, to be honest. Ravi studied Kanda's face closely. "You feeling okay, Yuu?" Maybe something had happened. Or Kanda was sick or delirious or something. Ravi placed one of his hands on Kanda's forehead. He couldn't think of any reason why Kanda would act like this on purpose - he wasn't the type to play pranks or joke around.

Kanda hadn't been this affectionate the other day, even while he was drunk. Kanda never talked or smiled like that. Ravi stared at the other boy. "You sure you're Yuu?" he asked. He managed to disentangle himself from Kanda and sat up, first to see whether Allen was actually still there and then to start checking Kanda for anything that might explain why Kanda, if this was really Kanda, was acting like this all of a sudden. Maybe someone had slipped something funny into his food yesterday or he'd hit his head at some point...

Instead of getting very far with that plan, though, Ravi found himself flopping back down on top of Kanda when suddenly moving quickly didn't seem to agree with him right now after all.

It was around this time that the white haired exorcist was starting to stir from his dreams. Well, not so much as stir as to jolt awake from yet another harrowing nightmare that plagued him nearly every night. He shot right up into the upright position, covered in a few drops of cold sweat. His breathing was slightly quicker from the intensity of the nightmare, and he clutched at his chest with his red hand.

Yep. Another normal morning for Allen.

In about five seconds he gulped and calm down, reminding himself that his Master was not around and it was just a dream. He remembered that he was in Kanda's room since his room was preoccupied, and he looked over at the other exorcists-

Who were on top of each other. With Kanda asking if Ravi was alright.

This was the sight that made Allen give a quick noise of surprise and fell out of bed.
