Who: Anyone!
What: Trick-or-Treating through the castle and the city, PLUS a party at the Lux.
When: Halloween!
Notes: Backtagging = Welcome. [brackets] = Welcome. Prose = Welcome. Costumes = ENCOURAGED. Sections = FORTHCOMING.

Halloween wasn't always Jo's favorite holiday. To be honest, a day of the year where all the creatures and monsters she'd been trained to hunt down and kill being a novelty item was a bit unsettling. Mostly, she blamed it on the fact that not many kids dropped into a bar during the holiday to ask for candy. After the first year in the castle for the holiday, Jo changed her mind about the whole thing. Granted, she had missed out the previous years activity where all the decorations came to life. It was possible that she was tempting fate by decorating the Lux in the theme. Maybe she wanted to get her monster massacre on.

Now it was a tradition of sorts. Caterina had gone home, but she was hoping to rope someone new into the position of child wrangler with her.

The kids were to meet at three in the afternoon in the lobby of the castle. Jo had a list of all the residents that were going to offer up candy to the kids and the businesses. Considering last year, she wanted to be better prepared. Thankfully, there were only seven floors this year and it seemed the elevators were in perfect working order.

Once they made their rounds in the castle, they'd head out (through the leaves) to the city. A few businesses had opted to join in on the festivities and Jo wasn't going to let the kids hard work on their costumes go to waste.

After the trick or treating was done, they'd head back to the Lux where the kids were welcome to trade candy amongst each other or trade it in for something else at the Lux (where Jo had plenty of candy -- unless Dean ate it all).

Of course, once it hit nine o'clock, most of the kids would've filtered out and the bar would shift its focus to something of a more grown-up event. Halloween themed drinks and different foods were available and for the most part, it was just meant to be a good time for anyone that wanted to just hang out and drink.

If there needs to be a place, if you haven't found somewhere by now? Feel free to come by the Magic Box. At least there are books to read?

[Wait]

Only maybe not out loud Not without practice.

So. I might need help. Actually, I know there will be needing of help. I know that measuring herbs and cataloging texts isn't everyone's idea of a good time. But if it is? I will be down at the shop most of the day.

[A pause]

The name would probably help. The Magic Box II, for those of you still reading.

[And true to her word, Willow settles down to spend the rest of the afternoon in town. A carefully worded sign sits in her window. 'Help Wanted'.]

Where do people go to think, here? I mean -- the less thought places.

Not if you have a place that you don't want to share? I am not here to force sharing. That never ends well.

But if anyone has any suggestions?

I would appreciate it.

[There is a small groan as Willow wakes up that filters across her open journal. Two days later and she is still nursing one hell of a magical handover. Is it possible for your eyelashes to hurt? In that moment, she is fairly certain that it is.

But as she gets up from bed to move into the common area of her room, Willow stops short. Then looks over her shoulder towards where a third door should be. Argumentative eyelashes blink once, then again. Her stomach drops.

It takes a few more minutes to make her way towards his original room. But somehow? Willow knows what she is going to find]

...dammit, Xander. You were going to stay this time.

[A sigh. Different things hurt now]

Who: Wesley, Lilah, Willow
What: Wes follows a lead and gets Willow's help to find out the truth from Lilah.
Where: Lilah's room.
When: Sunday afternoon, not long after Harmony's post.
Ratings: PG? But dark, possibly disturbing themes/discussion.

It was all making sense in his head now, why Damon had been so adamant that Angel was the culprit, and urging everyone to go take him down. It was a misdirection. Damon had demonstrated the power to influence the mind, he'd done so in Wesley's presence with the bartender. It was possible his powers of glamouring were strong. Strong enough to make a victim not only not be able to talk about what had happened, but believe something else. He had to know for sure. He needed to find out the truth for himself and then he'd decide on his course of action.

Which meant confronting Lilah one last time. But this time, he had something up his sleeve.

He knocked on her door and waited for her to answer. There was no time to lose, and he wasn't going to back down. No, the stakes were far too high.

Does anyone actually know what is going on. Because some very sarcastic man is talking about Angel revisiting his darker side.

[There is a bit of the Sorcerer's Apprentice happening in Willow's room right now, with one magically animated broom and dustpan hard at work in the corner. It is about all she can manage right now. There had been much overextending during the rescue, and their landing the night before was not exactly of the warm and fuzzy. She is taking a rest, propped on her bead enjoying the novelty of something called sheets]

And in conclusion to the many, many movies watched in Xander's basement and almost never-ending debate? I am now certain.

A pirate's life is not for me.

Who: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce and Guests
What: A housewarming BBQ at Wes' new townhouse apartment.
When: June 18th
Where: Wes' place
Rating: PG for now, will update if there are shenanigans
Notes: Backtags are love. Gatecrashers are love. Multiple threadjacks, own threads etc are fine. Have fun with it! Just getting up the location tags then we are good to go.

Wes was a little nervous when the time approached for the guests to start arriving. He wasn't really one for hosting parties and so there was apprehension as to how it all would go. Hopefully it would be a success and everyone would have a fun time. He had to marvel at how Fred had managed to put everything together for him. He was simply amazed by her tireless energy and determination to make his party a success. Lorne had come through with the liquor too. He was most definitely going to have to make it up to the both of them for their help.

He had one more walk around the apartment to make sure that everything was looking immaculate. There were a few extra chairs in the living room, the kitchen currently had Fred buzzing around in it making some finishing touches, the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries, the bedroom was tidy (not that he expected anyone to spend time in there), and the backyard had several extra patio tables and chairs set out for people to mingle there. It was where the grill was set up as well, and apparently he was going to man it. To that end, Fred had gifted him a grilling apron to wear for the occasion.

As for the food, well the menu was centred on home-style bbq cooking, so the guests could expect: hamburgers, lime chicken and shrimp kabobs, buffalo wings, grilled corn on the cobb, grilled garlic tomatoes and baked apple pie with home-made ice cream for dessert. There was also chex-mix and other nibbles for those more inclined to graze.

[Well hello, feeling of not.

Not her bed, definitely. Not her sheets. It didn't even smell like her room.

Oh right --

And there is the not alone in bed party too]

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
