Mmm. To those I've been in communication with sporadically over the past week or so, I must apologise for my behaviour. I wasn't feeling well.

Hopefully, it's passed for the time being. It is rather annoying to deal with, after all.

{Dictated in a soft but confident voice;}

"In former days, when the people of the Hebrews and all the tribes of Israel were oppressed for their scandalous sins by the grievous tyranny of the Philistines, in order that they might be able to overcome their enemies, as the sacred story declares, they restored their powers of mind and body by the injunction of a fast. For they understood that they had deserved that hard and wretched subjection for their neglect of God's commands, and evil ways, and that it was in vain for them to strive with arms unless they had first withstood their sin. Therefore abstaining from food and drink, they applied the discipline of strict correction to themselves, and in order to conquer their foes, first conquered the allurements of the palate in themselves. And thus it came about that their fierce enemies and cruel taskmasters yielded to them when fasting, whom they had held in subjection when full. And so we too, dearly beloved, who are set in the midst of many oppositions and conflicts, may be cured by a little carefulness, if only we will use the same means. For our case is almost the same as theirs, seeing that, as they were attacked by foes in the flesh so are we chiefly by spiritual enemies. And if we can conquer them by God's grace enabling us to correct our ways, the strength of our bodily enemies also will give way before us, and by our self-amendment we shall weaken those who were rendered formidable to us, not by their own merits but by our shortcomings."

{takes a small breath and switches to writing is a recognizable elegant handwriting;}

This is a sermon for Lent time taken from the book I borrowed from the library. I would believe this is an appropriate overture for the period that awaits for every follower of the Church. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and I attended by myself to this small chapel nearby the castle; a ritual a girl of my age should do with her family. Seeing this privilege was stripped from me recently, it is in the solitude of praying I found comfort.

Your hospitality has been marvelous and concern was touching. Specially yours, Sir Zelman, I am in debt with your charity. All things considered, I am well enough. Regardless of my new-found solace in lonely prayers, I would still like to enlist the company of the faithful who wish to join me.

Oh, right. Vandalizing my room while I'm gone. Real mature and intimidating. I am quaking in my boots, O Ransacking Ones. My weapons better be [erased] I probably don't even have to guess who was behind this.

Faith, did you not hear anything? Or did you just assume I felt like going caveman on my décor?

And what's up with the town? Clearly I'm not the only one having a decorating crisis.
[identity profile] majestic-blue.livejournal.com
[dictated forever]

Not only has the town outside been redecorated, but it appears that my floor has, as well. I would find the crude drawings more tasteful if it didn't take away from the overall tone of my performance.

This castle is certainly strange.
[identity profile] sofaultless.livejournal.com
If you have a room with a window that overlooks the town (as I suspect most do) look out it now.

What's happening to it?

Uh.

Why is the town being flooded by a rainbow-colored sea...?
[identity profile] inurshadowz.livejournal.com
It goes without saying that watching the town be flooded with rainbow paint does not mean good things. Completely random and weird, maybe, but what else is new? I'll go check it out.

[door open and transcribed surprised noise]

Whoa!! Okay... what the hell happened out here? Redecorating isn't bad but this is... really messed up. Whoever drew these must've been blind or on drugs.

I don't appreciate that someone has sprayed paint all over my room and on my bed sheets.

I have to spend the whole day trying to clean it up now.
[identity profile] soldyoursoul.livejournal.com
I sense a headache is imminent.

... any idea what that thing in town is? It was almost cute [illegible] Assuming the paint wasn't getting to my head, that is.
[identity profile] wutmullet.livejournal.com
I have to say that, compared to everything I've experienced over these past eleven months... paint flooding the town and the floor being redecorated is really not that bad.

Heck, I might just keep my room this way.
[identity profile] dramatic-orange.livejournal.com
[Dictated as usual; the slight noise of slow-moving A-Ts is heard]

... Huh. Odd choice in design, wouldn't you say? Paradisa, either you did this yourself, or you've actually allowed someone to vandalize the walls and the town without bringing immediate justice... The latter seems more likely, and therefore... [door opening] I feel rather...

... Shocked... [Jingle jingle. Jingle jingle jingle. TWO JINGLE NOISES AT ONCE.]

Today I caught a ghost and asked him to join my crew. He wouldn't say anything! But then he made me food so I'm not mad at him even though he ran away as soon as I loosened the net.

But now I want a ghost on my crew. Oh, or a werewolf. Or a vampire!!!

You mean none of you guys have ever heard of the artist's ghost?

This is basic knowledge in Tethe'alla!

Just watch out-- he likes to steal the souls of the people with past sins, so that he can put them in his paintings.

Because he sold his soul for artistry he could never master...

He resurfaces every couple of hundred years or so! Go figure he'd follow us from Tethe'alla here!

[lawl someone's studying the art going up on floor 19 XD]

I ... actually sort of like it. Never really went to the art museums back home, unless it was required for school and even then ...

[heh] I think my paint footprints sort of add to all this. Anyone know of a good way to get paint ... a lot of paint ... off skin?

This isn't-

This really isn't funny.

Of all the things....

Does anyone know if there's hotels in town?
[identity profile] xxbloodflame.livejournal.com
Oh yes, impressionism. Vincent van Gogh, really bipolar kind of guy. Got drunk one night and confessed his feelings to the woman he loved, who didn't love him back. She joked that if he really loved her, he'd cut off part of his ear and give it to her wrapped up as a present.

So he did.

Needless to say, the gift wasn't appreciated, he was considered insane the rest of his life, and Van Gogh died worse off than he'd started. At the age of thirty-seven, he shot himself in the chest and died two days later. True story.

With that said, I'm going to sleep. If anyone needs me over the next few days (I don't know why you possibly would, but hey) just knock on the coffin in the middle of the room. Not loudly, though, that thing echoes.

Hm, also~ Akito? Watch Sei for me while I'm indisposed. I want to know if he starts eating his friends again.

I sat in my window seat today watching the chaos envelop the town. It was quite amusing, watching all the different colors rolling through the streets like a great kaleidoscope and listening to Jan's gunfire. I hope you had a good time. Did you get any hits on that enormous mouse-thing I spied a time or two?

When I returned from lunch, the walls in our room were covered in childish little stick figures. Sometimes I think I see them moving, out of the corner of my eye.

I went to visit my old room on the third floor and it had been repainted in such lovely shades of rose. Quite appropriate for the upcoming holiday, I think.

Valentine's Day. Last Valentine's, Harry gave me two dozen roses and treated me to dinner at my favorite restaurant. Then we went home and made love. Then, we dressed and spent all night at the clubs. Oh, how he loved the clubs. He could pretend, there, that the drum beats in his head were only the beats of the music over the speakers.

My father gave me roses every Valentine's Day as well. He and Harry were the only people in my life who ever made me feel special. I miss that.
[identity profile] heather-fields.livejournal.com
Would anyone care to take a walk with me around the castle floors? I'd like to see the artworks that have come up. It's far more interesting than any of my own castle galleries. I just thought.. it might be nicer to have someone to talk with about the paintings.

On another note.. Has anyone seen Prince Ludwig a.k.a Lui?

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
