Attention, all residents of Paradisa!
The Garland Detective Agency is now open for business!

Missing persons? Suspicious thievery? Lack of any need for money here aside, I'm your man! My office is on the seventeenth floor.

(OoC: 1702 now has an added plate saying "Garland Detective Agency" above Johnny's name, and the front of his room looks more... office-like. Sort of. Johnny tries.)

I'm surprised there's still snow out, to be honest. I guess it's waiting for the New Year. Back home it would have been turning 2013, but I have no fucking clue what year it is here.

I tried to save a few pieces of that mistletoe, but apparently the castle taketh away as easily as it giveth. Pity, I was looking forward to having some fun later~

I suppose I should have gone down to watch some of the action as it happened, but it was so much nicer to hear about all of it from the comfort of my room. It's no Threshold, of course, but it's not exactly coach, and it's certainly better than trotting up and down the stairs or sharing the elevators with others.

Either way, I'm bored again~ Anyone interesting awake?

Alright. Now that all that disgusting cheer is gone although the taste of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum is still disgustingly fresh in my mouth,[Readable if you squint. And yes, this is referring to Vala and Jackson. In that order.] I would like to address this to those that sent me presents.

You did it wrong!

Save for Donnie...which, by the way, you didn't do half as bad as I thought you would. A little bit of rewiring and some additional programming, and this computer was running like a dream. So...uh...thanks. A couple of you other people did well too. The people who sent books got the right idea, and even this tiny little book of riddles was enjoyable. Briefly so, but enjoyable none the less.

Now then. I won't waste my time going over each and everyone of you that sent something indicative of failure, I do want to address the person that sent me spandex.

NO! JUST NO!

That is all. Feel free to go back to whatever it is you people do. Which, and I wouldn't be surprised if this were true, is likely wallowing in your own filth and flinging your fecal matter at one another.

What is this thing? I never had a toy like this. It seems familiar, but I don't remember it. Is it from...

Everyone better have enjoyed the gifts my puddin' sent you.

He spent a lot of time making them and haven't heard anyone say thank you!

{ the sound of a button being pushed repetitively before Zelman speaks, clearly annoyed }

You're a right bastard. I hate you and the ground you stand on.

{ this would be a vampire with super-strength kicking a poor soda machine in the side. |D And it sounds like three or four cans of soda roll out in response }

Huh.

I didn't think that actually worked.

{ he opens a can and sits down on top of the machine }

What kind of a soda machine shows up in the kitchen and then refuses to dispense soda? Really.

{ switches to writing }

Looks like quite a few people are disappearing again~

Though I'm pleased with most of the new arrivals. Seems to be an interesting bunch. ♥

Oh wow... This library is amazing! It's just so big! There's books on everything! I even found a book on Summon Spirits!

[a pause]

Now that I've gotten a bit more of an understanding of this castle, I suppose I should introduce myself to all of you. My name is Klarth F. Lester, I'm a scholar and I'm from the world of Aselia. I suppose I'll be here for a while, like the rest of you, so... I hope we'll get along.

Almost the end of the year, huh? Damn... so much has happened.

Not all of it was really bad. Like Hermione. An' I guess it's better for me to know the truth about my old man.

But still, we've all gone through a hell of a lot in this place. One can only guess what's gonna happen to us in the upcoming year.

Ah...hello? Book-san? Do you know if anyone out there is looking for a Yamada Hanatarou? I-I don't know how long it's been since I've gotten lost, but people usually realize I'm gone after a week or two..!

Oh. You don't have to write down everything I say. I-I was just wondering, but I guess I can find my way back on my own, too.

[Some rather heavy steps are recorded, and then a grunt as something is tossed. And then a wet thump as said thing hits ground. FYI, this is all happening in front of the clinic. The following is dictated.]

HEY!

This punk ass kid got served. Needs some fucking attention or he might die. Why don't one of you doctor bitches stitch his ass up or some shit? Wouldn't want the blondy to bleed to death or something. He's probably got a handful of bullets lodged in him too.

There, done my part. Ciao.

[Recorded foot steps again.]

[ooc: Naruto and Jan went at it, and Naruto lost. Pretty piss poor condition too, but not dead. Either Jan has bad aim, or Naruto has hellah plenty luck. Expect an ooc post from Naruto-mun with more details.]

... Oh dear-- Ohhh my...

... Ch-Chris-kun, I think something's... going on. The air around me... It's sparkling... Oh dear lord, so is what I say... And I'm not making it do that this time!

... Could someone please enlighten me as to what in the name of God is going on?

((OOC: ... The sparkles on my computer aren't showing... But, I'm pretty sure they're working or everyone else... Yeah. LOSS TIME IZ NAO.))

Never did get the point of the holiday.

Heh, nice of the castle to give me my first love back. {a metallic thunk thunk as Rod pats the side of a motorcycle} Good to have you back girl.

Kinda creepy though... I swear I crashed this thing into the side of a building, and she ended up in at least 27 different pieces.

I just wanted to let the art class know that Kio is gone. I'm not going to be able to take over for him, so unless we can find a new teacher the class is going to have to take a break for a while. At least until we can come up with somebody.

Also, I was looking at the class lists on the bulletin board and they're pretty out of date. If anyone has any changes they need to make to it could you let me know? I'll try to get it straightened out and reposted soon. Thanks.

[after a second]

Oh, and for the newer people that didn't know, a bunch of us set up some classes a while back that anyone is free to join. I'll leave a copy of the classes available on the bulletin board down on the first floor, but if anyone would like to sign up for anything or volunteer to teach a class let me know? I'm trying to get things organized to keep myself busy. [scribbled out]

Thanks again.

Strange that is. Many residents seems so dissatisfied yet none wish to rebel. Perhaps such is due to a lack of motivation. Perhaps for another reason. Perhaps it is due to this wretched place being more enjoyable than their origins. Yet how could one enjoy having something important stolen from them so mercilessly and without their knowledge, at times, with no hopes of ever retrieving it? Perhaps this is naivety.

Another note, the unusual behavior of the other Spirans. It appears they are from different tiimes in history, yet such would be improbable, as I remember their presence. One claims to have never met me, another knowns not what happened in the Farplane, and yet another seems uncertain. This could not be due to pyreflies or even the vengeance of an angry spirit, say Shuyin. No pyreflies around and Shuyin is no longer Usent. How intriguing. Is it possible we are from different points in time? Perhaps this is due to the magic of this castle. Perhaps there are other reasons.

Or perhaps this is all an illusion conjured up by some angry spirit or pyreflies and, in fact, we are all dead.

Oh the possibilities.

{dictated sound of of pages being flipped} "Even dogs will run into sticks" ....Huh.... Interesting proverb. Weird.

...So which is better, the bars in town or the drinks here at the castle?

I do believe I've caught up in all of the coursework I've been lax in. It's a good thing the library had all the schoolbooks I needed.

I suppose it'll be useful if we ever get to go home. I don't see much use for it all here, but it's still better to know than to not.

If there aren't any penguins around, does anyone happen to know where I could get some sleds?

Also, what do they have in the game room downstairs?

It's pretty nice waking up and not smelling like bacon, coffee, and eggs. Then again, it's nice waking up at all.

... I just really wish someone would have told me about the ghosts in the kitchen. I feel bad for breaking a coffee pot. I'm just glad I didn't cut myself or something.

The town has clothing stores, right? I think I need to get some things since the younger me seems to be a few pounds thinner than I am and I was wondering if anyone would like to come with me?

Yay! That was a good Christmas. I really enjoyed it. I don't know where it came from, but there was an unmarked box and it had a chaos emerald [so very gone] my favorite wrench from home!

This place is pretty big. I could have found my way around eventually, but thanks anyway, Zelman. We should hang out sometime!

So~ the arcade is bigger than any of the ones I've ever seen. And it's FREE. It seems like forever since I [angrily scribbled out] It sucks that I missed Christmas, though.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
