You know. I don't like time travel.


Or I think I don't like it. I haven't really experianced real time travel, but I was in my future once, and it wasn't fun. I expect time travel to be something like that.

And it's absurd thinking time is linear. Flowing only one way and all the moments that already happened totally obliterated. Absolutely absurd.

I happen to like time travel. Did it all the time with the Doctor. Of course with the Doctor it was interesting, fun ... and pretty much always ended up with us running for our lives. Good exercise. I got to see myself once. The day my dad died, so I saw little baby me. Saw my mum and dad in an alternate universe. I didn't exist over there though ...

Anyway. I don't believe time is all that linear. I do know for a fact that certain things just can't be changed, no matter how much you try to change them.

True. Not all my time traveling was nice.

Especially not when I got left on a dead space station for five hours. Or when the Dalek and Cybermen armies ... anyway.



I did try really, really, really hard. Ended up mucking things up horribly, lost the Doctor and to fix it all the event had to happen. My dad had to die, just like he had originally done.

This is because you've never experienced fun time travel. Seeing yourself as a waiter and re-visiting important past events are two completely different things, after all.

Piffle. I think time travel has just been entirely spoiled for me. And I doubt this place will try and unspoil it.


Sure, re-visiting past events sounds like a wonderfully delightful way to pass the time... until you make a single little change and whoops, all of bloody history has been re-written!

... Then again that happens a lot back home. Except its more people going into the future and then writing very large books on everything they saw.

It's not actually as easy to change as they make it sound in the movies. Or, at least, not as easy to screw up. Besides, history changes all the time. 'S just that most people don't realize.

Erm, sorry to sound a bit anachronistic, but... 'movies'? We deal primarily in books here. Books and recordings. But primarily books. Lots of books. Not too fond of books particularly. Very hard to catch one. Takes way too much effort. They make for good free rides when in a jam though.

Of course not, because when it changes, it becomes new history, and old history is forgotten, so thus old history never existed and the only history remembered is the new history, because, well, in changing old history, it became obliterated. Or something like that.

Books are good and all, but I don't keep any in me tower anymore, save for emergencies. I used to have a whole collection, then one day, one of the books got depressed and started losing it's pages - and what do you know, the rest of them got depressed and I was left with pages everywhere and a bunch of sad looking books.

And time isn't linear. It can be bent and twisted into any shape, really.

No, not fun time travel at all. Being a waiter is very far down on the 'fun' list. A waiter on earth, no less! I suppose I shouldn't be angry at earth, it wasn't the planet's fault, but really!


Well, I think of it more as every moment of time exists at the same time. Like right now, you're dying, and at the same time, you're alive. Or the universe is just now begining and ending, all in the very same second. We just happen to not be in those seconds.
