You know. I don't like time travel.

Or I think I don't like it. I haven't really experianced real time travel, but I was in my future once, and it wasn't fun. I expect time travel to be something like that.

And it's absurd thinking time is linear. Flowing only one way and all the moments that already happened totally obliterated. Absolutely absurd.

My point exactly. It wasn't all shop dummies. It was everything plastic. Those just happened to be especially violent.

So I've heard. I missed it by only a few days. A bit disappointed about it, really.

No, no, be glad you weren't there. They chanted non-stop in some other language. [sound of many flipped pages] Something like 'et toy a matar'. Doesn't matter. They drove me half mad. Had nightmares, and I don't dream!

Huh. Doesn't sound familiar, which is weird. But I guess with all the various universes being compiled here there's bound to be a language I don't speak.

Nope. Only started having any since I came here. One was just... darkness and a feeling of dread, and the other was... voices or something. Of course, the first one could be me just staring at me eyelids, and the other could be me having left me journal open and people blathering away in it.

...think I might've had that second one, actually. But the words were all jumbled.

... Same here. Did the voice sound almost familiar to you, too?

It did. Almost like-- [non-sensical string of gibberish] er, I could've sworn that wasn't what I meant to write.

I could have sworn [wild set of gibberish, shapes, dots, and just wild pen scrapes].

How can you even tell if it's [gibberish and a Q wearing a party hat] or if it isn't [same exact gibberish, but lacking the party hat wearing Q]?

Because! When I say [gibberish with little confetti-like dots] it doesn't turn out like [gibberish and squigglies]!

We're getting absolutely no where. But this has to be important.

I know! Because we wouldn't all just lose the ability to say [gibberish, funny lines, a circle] at the same time! It makes no sense.

I don't think anyone can say it.

To tell the truth, I don't even know if my [gibberish, the greek letter for omega] is the same as yours!

But the question (as always) is: why?

~~Why not?~~ There has to be something important about it, some detail we're missing. Maybe even a way out, if we listen closely enough. Why else go to all the trouble?

~~Because it's absurd, that [gibberish].~~ Got to keep some skepticism too. What if it's happening to distract us from something else? But there's something going on. Definitely.

Like you said, even if it's a distraction it still means we're being distracted from something. So if we keep investigating we're bound to figure at least part of it out.
