clawsofadragon.livejournal.comIt didn't stop.
[Tifa's adventure has become a full-fledged nightmare. Or perhaps that's an exaggeration. To say she isn't the least bit anxious is an understatement. Anxiety, flutters, shivers, shudders, and the rallying of her unstable nerves have been haunting her. As though things had not been bad enough to begin with.
She has donned the appropriate apparel, helm and everything. She seems prepared, though it occurs to her that in uniform like that, it might not be the easiest to use her fists as weapons. She's not really trained in anything else... That thought vanished some time ago, however, once the incessant pounding on walls became painfully clear. Forget the problems with Paradisa, the thumps are the ones that remind her of a pulsing heart held within her ribcage.]
I thought it would go on forever... Maybe it will.
I didn't know where to go. In a monument that doesn't seem to end, I felt lost, so I followed him.
And that was how I got here.
But it... didn't stop.
[Even Tifa's charms are not immune to hallucinations. Her optimism is lingering, though hardly as amplified as it had been before. Her own uncertainties are getting the best of her. Her tone is one of considerable contemplation. It seems clear, as a blue sky, that she is trying to think of what she'll do next.]
Something has gone wrong.
He said not to worry, though. He said not to worry, and to follow him.
"We'll get through this together."
That's all I've really wanted. Just to get through everything together. That and--
[She breaks off as it seems she's being called. It's by her own hallucinations, of course, so the only one who can hear it is her. On the edges of insanity it must look, though Tifa would never see it that way. She speaks, but it's not to the journal, yet it picks it up anyway...]
Yeah. I'm coming.
[Pause.]
Hm? No. I didn't hurt myself.
[Pause.]
You're okay, right?
[And there's a smile in that momentary silence.]
Oh, good. I am too.
[Tifa's turning her attention back onto her journal, and not onto the strange things she seems to be imagining.]
So we're looking to help anyone out there who needs to find others.
I don't know how much help I'll be, but I'm going to do my best.
And he'll do his best too.
