ruthea.livejournal.comBefore we begin...I would like to thank those you who have come, and anyone who has even a moment to spare their kind thoughts and words. This...ordeal, is not quite over yet, but I'm sure that our loved ones appreciate us taking a moment to send them on their way to rest properly. Thank you, also, for allowing me to preside over this. It is an honor, truly.
...
Those that we have lost - Kuina, Charlotte Aulin, Rinali Li, Gambit, Watanuki Kimihiro, Arisawa Tatsuki, Matt, Forcystus, Chomesuke, Sync, Heath, and Susan Foreman - have left us in the physical sense. We know this, and it pains us that we can not touch them, hold them, or even see them among us. But they are not gone from this, or any world, entirely. Stars and Flames as bright as they do not go out completely, but continue to shine in our minds, and our hearts, for eternity.
We mourn.
It is what is expected, when we lose a friend, a lover, a family member. We mourn, and we regret. But even as we do we must never forget that this sadness will not last forever. Those we care for have gone on to a better place, I believe this, and I believe we all know that they would not want us to be sad always.
They would be sad themselves if we forgot how to smile.
So, yes, we mourn them. And we shed our tears and say what words we can only think to say, now that they are gone. But after we say our final farewells to the physical aspect of our loved ones, we must remain strong and face tomorrow.
Face the rest of our lives.
Not only for ourselves, and not only because they would want it so, but because they are with us. We live for them, now, and each day that we're able to still rise and do what is asked of us is a wonderful tribute paid to them.
Blessed be their spirits and their memory.
Amen.
