Who: Vivian Volkoff and YOU (via this post)
What: Horse riding, meeting new people.
When: 23rd September
Where: At the stables and the castle grounds
Rating: None.
Vivian was expecting a few people to turn up this afternoon at the stables so she had spent most of the morning preparing everything and getting the place ready. She was changed into her riding gear and was standing by Oklahoma Rain's stall, brushing his mane. The other horses were already taken care of before so Vivian didn't have to worry about them.
She found herself to be looking forward to this because it meant that she could get to know some more people and hopefully gain a few friends out of it. More importantly, it could also lead to Vivian finding a few riding partners because while she enjoyed taking her horse out by herself, having company was never a bad thing.

He smiled at the woman he assumed to be Vivian, his dark hair set into a single thick braid that scraped at his heels and his usual finery kept down to his necklace and a few golden clasps on his ears.
"Good morning," he greeted her, heading for the end box stall where his own Svitana was. "Vivian, is it?"
He opened it and led out the creature - easily eighteen hands and more, the beast was covered in smooth, dark red scales, its frills frosted with black and bright golden eyes. A long, narrow face was topped with a sharp-toothed maw, and four sturdy legs ended in ground scraping claw, keeping its balance with a serpentine tail.

She inclined her head in greeting, offering him a warm smile in return. "Yes, that's me. Hello. I'm afraid that I didn't get your name when we last spoke."
Vivian could find that out when he returned. What was captivating her now was what his steed was going to look like. When he had told her it was like a dragon, it had Vivian more than intrigued, maybe even a little frightened. She wasn't used to seeing odd things and this creature was no exception.

Svitana shook his frilled head and danced a bit, claws scraping the floor of the barn as Ashura put him into the cross-ties. The beast secured he went to a trunk in front of the stall and opened it, pulling out what looked like a blanket and a girth.
"Though I think you might have figured that from Svitana here."

Vivian didn't mean to gape at the dragon horse but she couldn't help it. She watched as the beast moved from a distance, afraid to get too close to the thing. Not that she should be afraid because it seemed to be quite tame. Thankfully, the other horses weren't rattled by him.
"I really should have. My apologies." She stopped what she was doing, taking a step forward. "Svitana." Vivian repeated. "Did I say that right?"

And tame the creature might look, but it was war trained despite all that. It pawed the floor, shaking its head as the woman approached. It eyed here with its forward set, predator's eyes, nostrils flaring as it took in her scent.
"Calm," Ashura said in his own, native tongue - a liquid language like water and fire. The beast calmed and Ashura tossed the blanket/saddle over the back of the beast and started connecting the girth.
"Where did you plan to ride today, Vivian?"

Where his counterpart was exotic, Felix was merely anachronistic in his long golden riding coat and breeches, a navy blue waistcoat peeking through underneath as he silently fitted a harness on his horse.

"Hello there," she said politely, maintaining a short distance between them. "I'm Vivian. You must be one of the people I made plans with to come to the stable today, yes?"
no subject
"That I am, and thank you for inviting us today, Vivian. I'm Felix. Felix Harrowgate," he says, offering her his hand.
no subject
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Felix. I was only too happy to invite people along. So thank you for being so willing to come here in the first place."

When he saw Vivian he headed over, waving, "Hullo! Would you be Vivian?"
no subject
Vivian waved at him in return, offering him a warm smile. "That's me, yes. You would be the Doctor then?" She recognised his voice after all. "I love the hat."
no subject
"Why thank you. I thought it only appropriate, after all. Yes, that's me. I'm the Doctor." He held out a hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you."
no subject
"It suits the theme of the day," Vivian replied, taking the offered hand and giving it a firm shake. "The pleasure's mine, Doctor. Thanks for coming out today."

Greetings, Lord! they said. Or at least in his head they did. To anyone else, it just sounded like typical horse noises.

"Percy?" Vivian said, remembering that he seemed young when she spoke to him a few days ago.
no subject
"So have many people come by for lessons?" he asked conversationally.
no subject
"Just one person so far. Everyone else are experienced riders."

Not that she's acting the part of a queen. Today, as far as she is concerned, she's simply one woman meeting another for a ride and, with any luck, to further an acquaintanceship. And so, upon spotting Vivian, she approaches with a warm smile.
"You are Vivian, I take it?"
no subject
However, Vivian is going to treat her like anyone else: respectfully and warmly. She made no real distinctions between people. Unless they were her enemies of course.
The smile is returned by her as Vivian inclines her head in a nod. "That's me. It's lovely to meet you, Galadriel."
no subject
"And you as well."
One of the horses lowered his head, almost in greeting, and Galadriel spoke a few soft words to him in Sindarin, gently placing her hand on his forehead.
no subject
Vivian watched as Galadriel said something to the horse and she wondered what those words meant as she had never heard that language before. The horse seemed to react well to them though.
"What was that language you spoke, if I may ask?"

"Hello?" He called out, entering the stables and peering at the various stalls. There was hay here. Hmm, he was going to have to head back outside very soon. "I trust I'm not too late?"
no subject
She had just put Oklahoma Rain back into his stall when she heard the sound of a voice. Vivian came out to greet the newcomer, smiling when she saw who it was. "Hello, Wesley. No, you're not late at all."
no subject
He could feel that telltale tickle at the back of his throat. Any minute now he was going to start sneezing all over her.
"Hayfever, I'm afraid."
no subject
Vivian hoped that Wesley wasn't really allergic or this day mightn't go so well.
"I see," she nodded. "Yet you still came out to meet me here. Now that's dedication." Vivian had to commend him for being so committed.
