Who: Vivian Volkoff and YOU (via this post)
What: Horse riding, meeting new people.
When: 23rd September
Where: At the stables and the castle grounds
Rating: None.
Vivian was expecting a few people to turn up this afternoon at the stables so she had spent most of the morning preparing everything and getting the place ready. She was changed into her riding gear and was standing by Oklahoma Rain's stall, brushing his mane. The other horses were already taken care of before so Vivian didn't have to worry about them.
She found herself to be looking forward to this because it meant that she could get to know some more people and hopefully gain a few friends out of it. More importantly, it could also lead to Vivian finding a few riding partners because while she enjoyed taking her horse out by herself, having company was never a bad thing.

She smiled at the other woman. "That was very nice of you. I usually have to work a bit harder to get a horse to trust me. Being here makes me miss my horse at home. I often wonder how she's doing."
Vivian patted Oklahoma Rain gently before giving him some oats to eat. "But I treat the one I was given here just as well as I did to my other one."

"You need not worry over much for the well-being of your other horse, I think. It is said that time stills in our own worlds as we are here. And indeed, I have been given reason to believe that to be the truth."
She begins to prepare the horse for riding and adds over her shoulder: "But it is only natural to feel concern for those under your care."

She follows suit, placing the saddle on the horse's back and fixing his reins before looking over at Galadriel again.
"It's kind of a natural instinct, yeah. Can't help but feel protective of things that are close to me at home."

She finishes the preparations and looks back over at Vivian. "Shall we?"

It's not long until she's climbing onto her horse, quickly and yet quite gracefully as well. Vivian has had several years of practice.

"Have you a destination in mind, or are we to wander?"
no subject
"I hadn't thought of a particular place, so I think a wander would be a good idea to begin with."

She gives a little laugh. Leave it to the elf to turn a common metaphor literal.

She smiles at her, before encouraging her horse to move. "Shall we go then?"

As Vivian pulled ahead, Galadriel urged her horse onward, pulling up beside her and keeping an even pace.

"You said this is something of a hobby of yours, did you not? Might I ask how you came by it?"

She smiles a little. "My hobby soon became a passion of mine and I couldn't let it go. I don't think I could give something like this up."

She returns the smile and brushes a strand of hair away from her face. "A school for riding- how queer. But with the removal of necessity, I would imagine fewer would learn and not at such a young age."

Vivian huffs out a sigh before steering her horse to the left, glancing over at Galadriel. "You're right about that. Though I'd imagine if there weren't any schools, there would be something in its place."

Vivian lead them towards a clearing in the trees ahead of them.
"You chose to ride out of necessity back in your world. Maybe here you can make it more of a hobby."
