And you know, I was just kind of kidding when I said "why not have four outposts?" But the more I think about it, why not? We can have for powered outposts, and only one on the dead zone side... for starters. The future could bring other imperatives and possibilities.

But those are our sites, and we're burning through building time here. With our powered residents and volunteers, we should be able to get through those castle zone outposts fast.

Let's get the real work started.

I've been told we're all cave dwellers, now. Chained with our backs to the real world and watching shadows dance on the wall, and that we're better off that way.

We might be told that ignorance is bliss, but is that truly how things should be? I would think it would be best to know all our options... except I'm told that once you know, there's no going back, either, and once you've seen what's real you can't connect with anyone still living the unreality either.

Are we such children, though? Will we take the shadows as a sop? Reality might be painful, but eventually don't you have to face up to what's there... [she makes a small sound.]

Funny. The castle imprisons us, the dead zone is a chance to escape its power and get to freedom. And yet, the most powerful of us are still held here, in a way, because the things that they prize are provided by the castle and its powers. Those of us with nothing to lose by leaving the castle are free to leave it...

But we still all manage to have things we don't want to lose.

I don't know.

the alien standing there. is currently trying to make a ham subway sandwich. everything's all laid out in front of him all neatly and there's some ham. and some french bread. and they're all filled with giant holes. and if you're walking in on him now, you'll see him taking another giant french bread half. and immediately puncturing it with his claw by accident.

[Shawn had gone down to the pet store for a puppy. he thought having a pet might be nice and he plans to name it Gus so that while he is here in the castle he has a Gus that won't leave. A passive aggressive hint to the castle to give him his BFF back? Possibly. but for right now: puppy.

However, Shawn is not in the puppy section. Instead, he is in the rabbit section, craddling a bunny in his arms and looking pretty content as far as everything else is concerned. Bunnies have a calming effect. Kind of like cats. They lower your blood pressure, and in the case of Shawn? Make him want to stand still for more than a minute]

You know, I've always wanted a bunny. Maybe I should get you instead of a dog.

[If you happen to be in the main lobby, you'll see a little boy with his journal open, scribbling on it with colored crayons, creating a vast landscape meant to be his home (though, you know, with the epicness that is eight-year-old art skills). There's a lot of red in that picture, but most of it seems to come from a drawing of a man shooting fire from his palm with Papa written over his head.  

But that's not the only thing you'll be seeing. 

Ashura is constantly sneezing. And with every sneeze there is a little burst of fire, like a mini-firework somewhere within the vicinity. He's not very in control of what power he has right now.]

Achoo!

[He sniffs and rubs his nose, and behind him the little spark came thiiiiiiiis close to lightning something on fire. Whoops.]

[ooc: He can't really hurt anyone with the sneezing sparks. They're kind of like small bursts of light and might shock you if you get touched by one - like you got to close to something hot and jerked your hand away or a firecracker, but they're not dangerous: just cute.]
