What: It's a Wine Tasting at the Lux
When: Saturday Evening
Where: The Lux.
Sugarplum Fairies: PLENTY.
Notes: ANYONE is welcome. Prose or brackets. I'm just having Katherine start it off, but feel free to have your very own thread. This is a party-post of sorts. It's at the Lux and there are plenty of wines and platters of small bits of food that are meant to accentuate the flavor of the wine. Cheese, Chocolate, Fruits... etc.

The Lux isn't Katherine's first choice of social locations, but it does have the luxury of being somewhere that has been deemed as off-limits for the Salvatore brothers. She'd put the math together through the journals and from over-hearing conversations of employees and the ghosts. Such gossips. She'd already resolved to go to that Speed Dating thing, just trying to make some effort to figure out just who all was in this place and just how vulnerable some of them were.

For the moment, she's milling through the crowd, glass in hand, and keeping an eye on everyone. She's fully capable of slipping by most of them undetected. Knowing that her speed would easily put her out of anyone's line of sight if she didn't want to be seen. Tonight though, she wasn't planning on shying away from too many of them.

"Agreed," he nodded. "It would definitely keep the world at large on it's toes."

"Wouldn't it? But I suppose we don't for a reason. Especially for those of us who had learned about our own futures, and things like that. Might mess with the natural order." She said, taking a long drink from her glass at that thought.

"I haven't been that lucky." To know about his future, anyway. "I guess that's the benefit of being the only person from your universe."

"It's not always lucky. Some things are better off not being known," Lilah murmured. After all, learning of her future death was still a sore spot. Why Fred had waited so long and then suddenly decided to tell her was still a mystery.

"There are certain things I would like to know. I did leave home at a bit of an opportune moment."

"Oh?" She asked, curious.

There's a small half-smile. "I had just gotten myself into a lot of trouble. Probably a high chance I would be going back to prison."

"It's a shame we wouldn't be in the same world," Lilah mused with a smirk. "I'd probably be able to get you out of it."

"Really?" he said, raising an eyebrow. "Are you a lawyer?"

"I am. I work for a prestigious law firm back home. Wolfram and Hart." Not that the name held the same weight here.

He nodded as he considered that. "Do you deal in white collar crime often?"

"That was what our firm specialized in." Well, that and the occult and evil. But she wasn't going to mention that.

"Really?" he said, his eyebrows going up. "Work any big cases?"

"A few," She mentioned with another proud smile. "Though mostly I handled negotiations that happened out of court."

"I see. You were the one who handled making all the deals, getting the settlements -- things like that?"

"Exactly. I usually took care of things before they'd even have the chance to go to court." Of course, sometimes that involved spells and other not so kosher methods, but that's how it was.

"Huh. That's not a bad line of work to be in."

"I enjoy it." She commented with a grin. "And I'm very good at it too."

"In my experience, it's always good to know a good closer."

"It certainly doesn't hurt. And I was one of the best in my firm."

"I'll have to keep that in mind. You never know what could happen around here."

"Well, if you ever find yourself in trouble, feel free to look me up."

"I'll do that," he nodded.

"Good."

"Well," he sighed. "I should let you get back to the wine."
