Who: Anyone!
What: It's a Wine Tasting at the Lux
When: Saturday Evening
Where: The Lux.
Sugarplum Fairies: PLENTY.
Notes: ANYONE is welcome. Prose or brackets. I'm just having Katherine start it off, but feel free to have your very own thread. This is a party-post of sorts. It's at the Lux and there are plenty of wines and platters of small bits of food that are meant to accentuate the flavor of the wine. Cheese, Chocolate, Fruits... etc.

The Lux isn't Katherine's first choice of social locations, but it does have the luxury of being somewhere that has been deemed as off-limits for the Salvatore brothers. She'd put the math together through the journals and from over-hearing conversations of employees and the ghosts. Such gossips. She'd already resolved to go to that Speed Dating thing, just trying to make some effort to figure out just who all was in this place and just how vulnerable some of them were.

For the moment, she's milling through the crowd, glass in hand, and keeping an eye on everyone. She's fully capable of slipping by most of them undetected. Knowing that her speed would easily put her out of anyone's line of sight if she didn't want to be seen. Tonight though, she wasn't planning on shying away from too many of them.

"And how before my time do you think you are?"

Katherine was curious, since she'd only been giving him part of her story.

"Fourteen eighty-eight is the year I just came from," he replied. "Italia has changed a lot in just my lifetime –– it must be very different in your time, as well."

Katherine smiled, shifting to pass her glass to the other hand as she moved her hair off her shoulder.

"Truthfully, I've seen a lot of those changes. I was born in fourteen seventy-four. I know I don't look my age, but there are certain perks to the life I've chosen."

He raised his eyebrows, very surprised. Pleased, though –– he wasn't sure how she could have possibly lived so long, but he supposed he'd have to find out.

"I was born in '59. How have you seen the future if you were born in the 15th century?"

"I have the gift of everlasting life." It was a lot easier to say that, to a man from that era, than to just let it slip that she was a vampire. Especially given the context of the castle and how new he was.

Katherine couldn't be sure if he came from a place where monsters and demons were hunted down. Besides, it wasn't entirely untrue.

Probably a wise idea, given that vampires aren't even a thing in his time. Ezio just looked at her, expression a little confused, but he wraps his head around the idea fast enough. Alright, so maybe the bible was less fantastical than he thought.

"Must come in handy, whenever a region falls to war or disease."

"It is incredibly handy," she admitted.

"I did travel to America eventually, but there was always a part of me that appreciated the way it was back home."

"I can't pretend to know much about America, save that it is an as-of-yet undiscovered continent, but it cannot be better than Italia."

Katherine smiles, it's actually endearing to see the pride he has in his country. She remembers how dedicated the people were.

"I'm sure that even if you were to go, it would not compare."

Region -- Italy won't be a country for another three hundred or so years, and the city-states are warring between each other merrily. But by God, it's the best region. Fellow Italians are just warring family members, after all.

He smiles.

"Of course not. Who could argue with their homeland?"

"Definitely not me," replied Katherine.

She sipped at her own glass of wine for a moment, completely unaware of the fairies headed toward her head.

He had yet to experience the fairies, so he didn't quite understand their significance –– nor did he really have the time to point them out or ask before he was suddenly under their spell.

Ezio set his wine glass down on the bar with a soft "clink", and he leaned in to cup her cheek with one hand and press a kiss to her lips.

The soft touch to her cheek is something to lean into as she tips her head to allow for the kiss. Truthfully, Katherine probably would've kissed him without the aide of the fairies. He's very sure of himself and no doubt more charming than his efforts hint at.

Katherine allows her hand to rest to his shoulder as the kiss continues, her body sidling up against his with ease.

Ezio presses a little harder, his other arm circling around her shoulders to hold her against him. Normally, he wouldn't dare in such a public place, even if they're aside from the majority, even if he were smashed drunk, but in these circumstances –– magical circumstances –– it's all fine by him to be so intimate in public.

This is better than wine.

Katherine is quite content in the moment, the strength of Ezio's embrace keeping her close, and the warmth of the wine still running through her system simply made everything seem much more alive.

Not that she technically is alive.

The kiss is passionate, stirring a content hum from her before she pulls back. Her forehead rests to his briefly, a devious smirk sliding across her features.

"You are quite the gentleman."

He keeps her close, despite his better judgement. They're still in public, and this kind of thing in his time and get someone thrown in jail.

But what's life without a little risk?

"Born and raised," he replies, a low hum at the back of his throat. He smirks, running his thumb along her cheek, tone playful. "And you are the best kind of temptation, madonna. You do realize we are still in public?"

There's a soft smile that graces her features at the gesture across her cheek. It's not as though she's never had this sort of attention from a man before, but there is always something about an Italian man that she's grown rather fond of. ~~Too bad he doesn't have a brother.~~

The tone is warm and inviting, and honestly, she'd be perfectly content to hear him speak about anything at all if he kept it up like that.

Lifting her eyes to meet his, she agrees with barely a nod, "I'm certain that if anyone had noticed us they would've been envious, but seeing as I've yet to witness anyone storming off - I think we're safe."

He chuckles, just under his breath, amused.

"I like the way you think," he replies. "But if we continue... perhaps we should find some place more private."

Bold? Maybe just a bit.

"If not, we could stay and try more wines."

She hums softly for a moment, contemplating her options as she holds onto her glass of wine.

"We could always do both."

"Va bene," he replies. "I'd enjoy that."

"Then I'll get you another glass," Katherine replies smoothly as she reaches over to find another, different, bottle of wine.

He leans against the bar again, watching her pick.

"Despite all the changes in the world, I'd hope more than just wine has stayed the same."

"And what might be concerning you this evening?"

She pours the glasses and hands him one of them.

"What could possibly cause a man like you to worry."

He smiles. In fact, there is plenty on his mind, and in some ways, he's buried himself into making friends and love tonight to get his mind off the nagging questions about the setting around him. It seems that everything here is new to him in some way, less than twenty-four hours out of the gates. Social interactions, vocabulary, machines, customs... everything. That didn't even start with the supposed magic surrounding them.

He takes the glass and gives her a steady look.

"I must admit, this place is very different from the Venezia of 1488. It's... overwhelming, in some sense."

She can understand the culture shock that must be involved with this sort of arrival. Had she arrived here while she was human, there would've been no telling how she'd survive on her own amidst microwaves and refrigerators. Let alone indoor plumbing. She'd be grateful, no doubt, but definitely uncomfortable.

After another sip of her wine, and she nods, glancing at him. "As different as this world is, I'm sure you'll find plenty of things to enjoy."

It's a bit of another implication, but she's pretty confident that he doesn't mind. "I think my favorite thing is always going to be the ability to fill an entire tub with hot water in under five minutes."
