[Apparently, when you're raised in a military-like compound and not exposed to pop-culture while you grow up -- you miss out on a lot of things. Max has recently realized that she doesn't exactly know all of the movies that Jo and Julia grew up loving. We'll skip over the part where Jo and Julia know all the words to Lawfully Pretty and skip right to where they're trying to explain to Max that hard work does pay off and that the core message is really about accepting you for yourself, and that the sequel deals with a side of animal rights. Which, they figure Max will appreciate.]

We can watch the next one, too. [You know, in case Gwaine isn't back yet. She glances to the boys, because she is not putting in Die With Difficulty again. This is supposed to be making Julia feel better.]

Wait, she gets to go? [Unfair. Spike had the 'going out for a cigarette' excuse, it would have been totally believable.]

No. No one's leaving. Even if Max can be faster than humanly possible. [Man! It'd be a good time for the castle to put her on a loss and make her into Max again. Then she'd be fast and efficient.]

We're just going to have to deal with it. We'll look for things to eat in here.

[She had all the Halloween candy still... somewhere. Maybe there's a bowl of it somewhere.]

[sighs as she flops down on the bed again, resting her chin in her hands]

That was awkward.

[Having made it all the way to the fridge without having noticed the feuding couple was a tad strange.]

Where's mine? [-- You know what, forget it. Now that Jet's in, Spike straightens his tie and leans in closer to the door to listen. ... So maybe he cares a little more than he lets on.] They aren't throwing punches yet, are they?

[Jet looked down at his beer, then back up at Spike again. Oops! It never occurred to him to get more than one. In stead of dwelling, he decides to answer Spike's second question.]

[Spike gives up trying to listen in on them, or he doesn't want to hear it anymore (too depressing), and takes a seat on the floor near the door.

Now he wants lobster.]

[She shoots Jet a look.] Be careful with that.

And no, I don't keep food in my bedroom. I have dogs. I can't just leave food in every room.
