○ 013 Transmission
[Originally, Rookie had planned on spending the morning outside today to enjoy the fresh air, but decided against it when recalling the piles of leaves that were still littering the castle's grounds. Having no real interest in wasting the duration of his afternoon with plucking foliage out of his armor - as that usually tended to be how his evenings were spent once he returned indoors - the ODST could instead be found sprawled out in a nice little corner of Paradisa's lobby with the journal purposely propped open over his helmet.
Luckily for those listening, however, it wasn't snoring that was being transmitted over the pages today.]
[Filtered to those in the UNSC - except the Meta.]
Hey. Been meaning to bring this up, but I have some technology for you guys to check out. Grabbed it back when we all got separated during the expedition. Not sure if any of you would actually be interested in it though, seeing as a lot of it's broken, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention.
[/Filter]
[Once that was said and done, Rookie gave a soft sigh before moving on to the next two filters. Since he may as well cover all his bases while he was doing the whole journal thing.]
[Ted]
Doing any better, civvy?
[/Filter]
[Kallen]
Hey... [Bit of an awkward pause, since he was still trying to settle on whether or not to go through with this.] You have a moment?
[/Filter]
(ooc: Feel free to come across Rookie in the lobby, but other than that replies will be after I sleep. o/)

[And then a considering silence, before there's a sound of a metallic nod.]
Guess we'll just have to bring it up to her when she does.
[If she doesn't know already.]
no subject
Are you kidding? She wouldn't be able to keep her hands off it. [Kat and technology, BFFs.]
no subject
[Then he just laughs because yeah. He figured as much.]
It's a good thing I'm not too attached to it then.
no subject
[York chuckles in return.]
Now, don't let anyone take it away. It's yours.
no subject
[Then he snorts.] Right, because saying 'no' to a Spartan is obviously going to work, York.
no subject
[WELL TRUE.] ...I'll help, if she gets stubborn.
no subject
And then Rookie gives a considering pause, before his tone hints to a sort of shrug-like impression. Since he wasn't too worried about keeping it, if Kat could use it for something important, but the gesture was nice all the same.]
Thanks, York. I appreciate it.
[Now he's just going to go ahead and book it down the seventh floor hallway, and hope he doesn't trip while doing it. >>]

[He'll be waiting for the ROokie in his own room, messing around a little with the holotable.]
no subject
[And true to his word, after ten minutes, there's going to be a couple of knocks on the freelancer's door.]
no subject
[He ushers the Rookie over to his own version of Stark's table.]
What have you got?
no subject
This. [He'll raise the object just enough for York to see, coming to a halt once he was close enough to offer it over.] I haven't been able to get it to work since the expedition, so I'm curious to see what you can do with it.
no subject
What did it do out there?
no subject
no subject
And could you tell what was causing it to turn on and off?
no subject
[He'll then give a second to considering the next question, before slowly shaking his head.]
No. Not really.

[York gestures a few times and Delta pulls up a 3-D hologram of the device, which York spins a little with his hands.]
no subject
[Rookie slants his visor in the direction of the hologram, pausing to take it in with rekindled interest, before he's leaning forwards to gesture towards the spot he had used before.]
How about there?
no subject
[He delicately picks up the device. Yeah, that might be some kind of power source.]
Now we just have to figure out what kind of connection it takes. Does this pry off, or?
no subject
no subject
[Using the extremely cool solid hologram projection system that Yuki had given York for Christmas last year, Delta makes for York a thin blade of light - thin enough to pry open the power supply without danger of damaging it.]
There you go, open up for me.
no subject
[But Rookie will stand off to the side and watch. That knife getting far more interest than the actual box, truthfully, but seeing as he'd never seen anything like it before that wasn't much of a surprise.
As for the latch, it opens with very little difficulty. The inside appearing to be somewhat worn down and old, but there was indeed a spot that seemed like it would allow Flora's crystal to be inserted.]
no subject
[He lets the lightblade dissolve once the panel comes off - he'll gladly make another one if the Rookie would like to investigate it, though.]
Looks like we got a winner here.
[He carefully slips a crystal into the slot....]
