○ 013 Transmission

[Originally, Rookie had planned on spending the morning outside today to enjoy the fresh air, but decided against it when recalling the piles of leaves that were still littering the castle's grounds. Having no real interest in wasting the duration of his afternoon with plucking foliage out of his armor - as that usually tended to be how his evenings were spent once he returned indoors - the ODST could instead be found sprawled out in a nice little corner of Paradisa's lobby with the journal purposely propped open over his helmet.

Luckily for those listening, however, it wasn't snoring that was being transmitted over the pages today.

[Filtered to those in the UNSC - except the Meta.]

Hey. Been meaning to bring this up, but I have some technology for you guys to check out. Grabbed it back when we all got separated during the expedition. Not sure if any of you would actually be interested in it though, seeing as a lot of it's broken, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention.

[/Filter]

[Once that was said and done, Rookie gave a soft sigh before moving on to the next two filters. Since he may as well cover all his bases while he was doing the whole journal thing.]

[Ted]

Doing any better, civvy?

[Kallen]

Hey... [Bit of an awkward pause, since he was still trying to settle on whether or not to go through with this.] You have a moment?

(ooc: Feel free to come across Rookie in the lobby, but other than that replies will be after I sleep. o/)

Seemed an awful lot like something that was low on batteries, if you ask me. D, playback what I saw if you can.

Complying. [He uses the holotable to recreate with uncanny accuracy the visions as they appeared to York, albeit on a smaller scale.]

Was this the same as you saw, or was it different?

That doesn't surprise me. [He crosses his arms, having Delta freeze a particular frame of the hologram. It's a scene of some people gathered around and roasting...lizards? over a campfire.] This is--this is a memory of mine. Back when we went to that Jurassic Park place.

Seems really personalized. How do you think it's doing that?

I don't know if magic usually needs batteries.

[He taps the device curiously.]

And I'm not sure they're all memories, but that one is, at least. If it takes a quick mental scan or something, that could explain it.

Where in the ruins did you find this, anyway?

So it could be something common--or it could be unique to that old person's world. [That narrows it down.]

And we still don't really know if it has a purpose, or if it's decorational. I'd say the first order of business would be making it its own dedicated power supply.

Right. All you really need is some kind of interface between the power source and the device. You find something the right size and strength, I'll have D whip something up for you.

And if you get it working full time? I'd like to take another look.

[Anything that could project an impression of him like that was something he'd definitely like to take a look at.]

Appreciate it, Rookie.

[He spins a holographic representation of the device up on the table.]

And if anyone recognizes the type of design, well, we'll know that much more.
