○ 013 Transmission
[Originally, Rookie had planned on spending the morning outside today to enjoy the fresh air, but decided against it when recalling the piles of leaves that were still littering the castle's grounds. Having no real interest in wasting the duration of his afternoon with plucking foliage out of his armor - as that usually tended to be how his evenings were spent once he returned indoors - the ODST could instead be found sprawled out in a nice little corner of Paradisa's lobby with the journal purposely propped open over his helmet.
Luckily for those listening, however, it wasn't snoring that was being transmitted over the pages today.]
[Filtered to those in the UNSC - except the Meta.]
Hey. Been meaning to bring this up, but I have some technology for you guys to check out. Grabbed it back when we all got separated during the expedition. Not sure if any of you would actually be interested in it though, seeing as a lot of it's broken, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention.
[/Filter]
[Once that was said and done, Rookie gave a soft sigh before moving on to the next two filters. Since he may as well cover all his bases while he was doing the whole journal thing.]
[Ted]
Doing any better, civvy?
[/Filter]
[Kallen]
Hey... [Bit of an awkward pause, since he was still trying to settle on whether or not to go through with this.] You have a moment?
[/Filter]
(ooc: Feel free to come across Rookie in the lobby, but other than that replies will be after I sleep. o/)

Then he nods lightly, and pushes away from the wall to move closer.]
Yeah, I did. [Sounding a little amused.] Really think it'll work with more power, though?
no subject
Complying. [He uses the holotable to recreate with uncanny accuracy the visions as they appeared to York, albeit on a smaller scale.]
Was this the same as you saw, or was it different?
no subject
No it... seems different somehow. [He pauses to tilt his head completely, trying to get a better angle in hopes of figuring out what exactly he was looking at.] Doesn't have the same feeling to it either.
[Which is no surprise, considering it had been trying to transmit York's conscious through music and visions. Not Rookie's.]
no subject
Seems really personalized. How do you think it's doing that?
no subject
[That's... interesting. Although he had wondered why he noticed something familiar about the holograms when he had activated it himself. Guess that makes sense now.
York simply gets another shrug, though, before he's leaning back.]
Sensor, maybe? One that taps into the last person who touches it somehow. [Pause.] Or it could be magic too, knowing the way stuff works around here.
no subject
[He taps the device curiously.]
And I'm not sure they're all memories, but that one is, at least. If it takes a quick mental scan or something, that could explain it.
Where in the ruins did you find this, anyway?
no subject
And I found it inside one of the residential rooms of that old castle, while we were exploring.
no subject
And we still don't really know if it has a purpose, or if it's decorational. I'd say the first order of business would be making it its own dedicated power supply.
no subject
Sounds simple enough. Shouldn't be too hard to find something that would work with it, right?

no subject
Got it. I'll see what I can come up with.
no subject
[Anything that could project an impression of him like that was something he'd definitely like to take a look at.]

[He spins a holographic representation of the device up on the table.]
And if anyone recognizes the type of design, well, we'll know that much more.
