[If you come into the games room tonight you'll find something a little out of place. Something a little strange.

Why it's nothing other than a grown man sitting on the couch, hugging his knees close to his chest and watching some magical girl anime on the TV-

...wait.

That's right, after that whole Light Rock Warriors incident you'd think Adachi would never want to look at magical girls ever again. On the contrary, the opposite ended up happening: he ended up searching up some DVDs and waiting until late at night when the games room was empty and unused to start watching said DVDs. Might as well, right?

Tonight though he's in there earlier than usual. Why? Because he's downright excited for the episodes of the latest season of Cutie Pure he's watching tonight. Too excited to wait till later. So the instant that he found it empty he's in there ready to go.

He looks like a big kid getting far too involved in what he's watching, a bowl of popcorn next to him]

[He stares for a second at the suddenly appearing popcorn. He hasn't asked the castle for anything yet because he hasn't trusted it won't turn out awful. Then he notices Adachi looking for something and he can guess what it is. Sure enough the remote is on his side of the couch. He shoves it over, trying to grumble.]

Wouldn't want to share with you anyway. Even if you're done payin' for what you did; still a bastard.

[It comes out more awkward and with residual hurt than anger. His anger over the murders is long gone, replaced by a feeling almost like grief for how everything went down. Saki-senpai will never get to grow up and have a life, and Naoki-kun will have a hole in his heart forever because she's gone.]

Adachi silently takes the remote and rewinds back to right before he heard Kanji- oh Pure Melodious and Pure Rhythmic are doing one of their friendship and good vs evil spiels again, figures.]

...Guess I should just be grateful you're not picking up the nearest chair and decking me in the face with it.

[sets the remote back down]

[He smiles at the screen, totally agreeing with what's going on. Friendship is awesome and so very powerful. Then he glances at Adachi.]

You got your punishment and if it wasn't done it's the damn castle's fault, not yours. I ain't gonna punish twice. But one toe out of line, bastard, and I'll make sure you're punished for it. I swear.

[A beat as his attention is stolen back by the show and the friendship speech.]

Maybe you should listen real close and learn a few things from this.

[he wasn't really expecting that... but it was a relief at least. Reminds him of what Yukiko said when he first showed up.

He opens his mouth, to say a word that starts with a "th" sound, but quickly shuts it again, eyes back on the TV.

He stays quiet as he watches. Of course the friendship speech was directed to the third member, Pure Tempo, the bad guy turned good guy who still has her occasional bouts of angst about fitting into her new life and whether or not she deserves it. He rests his face in his left palm.]

Things don't really work like they do on television though.

[He's smiling, thinking it's so sweet and adorable. This show always makes him feel good and he's wished so many times he could go and live in such a world. He doesn't look at Adachi as he speaks but he's really serious.]

'Course not. TV makes things simple, too simple. It ain't easy, and sometimes it can really hurt, and sometimes it looks like you'll never ever succeed, but you can't give up. They've got the message right, even if they make it all neat and simple when it's messy and complicated.

[for once he actually listens, not looking at Kanji either. He's quiet for several seconds.]

[...aaaaaaaaaaand then suddenly the girls all hug and Adachi makes an absolutely embarrassing and involuntary sound before covering his face.]

[And he is abruptly utterly distracted by the hug, grinning and blushing a little happily.]

That's one of the best parts. They're so cute!

No, I think that's enough ribbons! Too many and the outfit becomes impractical. You need just the right amount of ribbons to be cute but not ruin the audience's suspension of disbelief when they see her fighting evil in it!
