[Today, Alleria is seeking refuge among the branches in the courtyard. Ordinarily, she finds pleasure in being outdoors, of course, but the mountains of leaves are not very conducive to taking thoughtful walks.
Instead, she sits high up in a tree, legs hanging off the edge of the limb, taking a whetstone to her sword. The journal lies open next to her, and it may pick up a few minutes of rhythmic scraping as she sharpens the blade in silence, mulling her words over before she speaks them aloud.
Tender emotions were not a thing that came easily to a Windrunner, after all.]
I have been here over a year, trapped in this place. I have seen allies and enemies alike come and go, and still others have stayed here, as I have.
I am sure this is a question that is asked frequently, but I still wonder: what is it that keeps some here, while others are expelled? Does the castle grow bored of us after a time? Does it give and take our loved ones so freely so as to make us hurt? Is it even capable of such sentience?
[A pause, and the scraping sound stops as she examines her blade.]
Will we ever get answers to these questions, or at the very least find someone who can give them to us?

FILTERED AWAY FROM FIRST GENS, BAD GUYS, TATTLE TALES, ETC.
TRUE

But they gave you the answers you sought?
no subject
Not exactly. But they did say they knew the other First Gens were going to trash the castle back in June.
no subject
And did they tell you this after the fact?
no subject
Yeah... I don't think they really cared.
no subject
That's not very surprising.
I do wonder how willing they would be to provide answers, though. Has anyone actually bothered to ask?

There are a few of those around, it seems. Gods. Is this a specific one?
no subject
Yes. He's... God. The creator of the universe...s. I think.
no subject
Oh ... yes. This is the god Aziraphale mentioned, I think. I wasn't aware he was here. He is all-powerful but refuses to help us, is that what you said?
no subject
I'm not sure if he's not helpful or not. He's sort of helped me figure out things!
no subject
What has he helped you with, if I may ask?
no subject
He said he can't mess with everyone's free will. I think it's because... people have to help themselves, rather than rely on something good to come along.
Oh... um!
Just some personal stuff I wasn't so sure about. That's all.

Hmm. I see. [Maybe she will have a talk with this nameless god at some point! >:[ He seems kind of shady.]
Ah. I understand. There are many here who are helpful in sorting out personal matters.

Ah -- you come from a world of peace, then?
