[And once again, it is noon on meeting day in Patrol headquarters. There's a big open meeting room space, tables in the middle, a projector on the ceiling, computers in the walls. It is shiny, high-tech, clean, and full of a lot more people than last time. Yuan is already here before anyone else arrives, getting papers laid out and shuffled around. He seems tense, but satisfied. Things are finally coming together.]

Oh, I can think of a lot of ways you can get killed with sucking without a police force getting involved.

Irritating, mostly. They're pompous know-it-alls who cause more trouble than they're worth.

Yeah, that sounds about right for magic guys.

And, of course, they expect a ridiculous amount of payment for their services.

That sounds familiar, too. [Not that Brock's ever hired a wizard or anything, but. He knows some magic guys, and they do tend to make a lot of money for dumb parlor tricks.]

[Yeah that's getting a look] Oh? You have the same sort of pain-in-the-arse con-artists on Earth?

What, magic guys? Yeah, all over the place. Most of 'em are in the supervillain racket, but some of them are good guys. My neighbor's a necromancer, so.

...Your neighbour raises the dead?

I guess so. I never saw him do it. Mostly he just does like, astral projecting and I don't know, levitating stuff. Not a lot of dead people stuff.

Hm. Sounds like the sort of stupid thing a wizard would do.

[Shrug!] He might just be a wizard who calls himself that. I don't really know.

There's an easy way to find out. Just offer him excessive amounts of food, if he turns it down, he's not a wizard.

That's a weird requirement.
