[And once again, it is noon on meeting day in Patrol headquarters. There's a big open meeting room space, tables in the middle, a projector on the ceiling, computers in the walls. It is shiny, high-tech, clean, and full of a lot more people than last time. Yuan is already here before anyone else arrives, getting papers laid out and shuffled around. He seems tense, but satisfied. Things are finally coming together.]

A huge guy in space armor who growls a lot and has a multiple personality problem?

... The last time I saw him, ma'am, he was still a cat.

[York nods over at the Rookie.]

Yeah, he's a cat right now. Easy to spot, since he's still in his armor.

[He rubs the back of his neck.]

Far as I know he still wants to kill me and eat my partner, along with steal everyone else's technology. [He'll try not to sound bitter that every time he seems to bring this up, nobody seems to give half a shit.] Apparently after we knocked him out and rescued my girlfriend from him last time, he got sent home and came back without his six homicidal AI. So, if we're lucky, it's just him an no more Omega, Gamma, or the others.

Of course, when's the last time we've been lucky where that asshole is concerned?

[Amy gives a shit, York. She gives all the shits in the world. He kidnapped her, banged her up, and ripped off her husband's arm--trust me, she wants that asshole shut down too. She nods at the Rookie as well before turning her attention to York]

Is there a way we could find out without anyone getting hurt?

[listening without saying anything, but he shoots York an entirely sympathetic glance. Every time he's faced down the Meta it's ended badly for him, so he's not sure he's really in a position to say much]

[Well, he knows you guys do. And he appreciates it. Really. Still leaves a couple hundred who don't care.]

Easiest way would be to get someone he either has no reason to hurt, or can't, and do some recon.

[okay, he's finally going to say something. coughs quietly]

He can't hurt me. [pause] Not like ... not like the rest of you, anyway.

[aw hale no, Rory Williams. Amy not-so-quietly hisses at him]

Rory, he ripped your arm off.

Yeah, I'm seconding the ripping your arm off thing. I'm thinking more like...someone invulnerable.

[gives Amy a "pipe down" look]

But are we really going to find someone here who's completely invulnerable? I mean, me ... I can't die. Not technically. Not like--you two can.

[gives him a "you just try and make me" look in return]

Maybe you can't die, but you can still--short out, or--or get scrambled. The Doctor might not be able to fix you.

Not necessarily. He got all over me and I don't have any technology.

[York sighs. This is why he can't have nice things.]

Yeah, exactly. Everyone here is probably "closely associated" with someone who has something nifty the Meta might want.

[somewhat grouchy look; he's determined not to feel guilty for what Amy suffered at the hands of the Meta, but it's happening anyway. He glances at the other suited man, catching his gaze]

So what's wrong with him, why can't he go? Does he have an AI like you do, York?
