[the clinic was much closer than his room; even with anyone on staff there, he didn't want to chance no one being there and leaving Cloud with nothing to help him with. running with the brutally crippled Subaru in his arms, he spotted Saber in her spirit form close by. it was fortunate that Zelman put a stop to Legato when he did - otherwise his Servant would have had to step in. god only knew that she was mere moments away before Cloud broke free.

never too far, he was even more grateful for having become her Master for the convenience of having someone there for him. not for him, this time... running as he went along with Saber, Cloud didn't waste any time]

Saber, in my room under my bed, there is a chest that contains magical orbs called Materia. Bring it to the clinic. We'll be there!

[He was barely coherent. The encounter Legato had left him drained, both physically and mentally. Torn and disjointed from the inside, his mind was swimming with pain, and he had to make a conscious effort to breathe. He could hear Cloud speaking, though he sounded far off.

Subaru wheezed faintly in reply to whatever was said, lying as still as he could to keep from hurting any more. Or maybe he just couldn't move much at all ]

[hearing how weakly Subaru responded, while a sign of life, Cloud couldn't help but feel torn by it all. this was awful... what a way to find him again. he'd forget about what he almost did as well.

once he reached the clinic, he wasted no time in setting Subaru down on a bed, gently laying him there flat. this would hurt for a moment, but he had to move him properly. gently setting his arms to rest at his sides straight out, he kneeled down beside the bed and took his hand]

Hey, can you hear me? I'm going to help you. Just hang in there.

[In. Out. In. Out. His concentration broke for a moment as the pain in his arms jolted up into the rest of him, and for a panicky second he was gasping for air. Try to take too much, and it would hurt more; a sharp, stabbing pain in his lungs... but too little and he was sure he'd fall asleep.
