Has anyone here ever tried to keep a sort of tally on how many there are of everyone around here? I don’t mean a population count, more like ... there are this many humans, this many elves, this many dwarves ...

Though, are there even any dwarves around here? Will anyone get mad if I make a dwarf joke? Maybe I should avoid that one anyways ...

Er, and one more thing – what, exactly, is a “taco”?

I was reading in the library before we all got locked out that this month -- "October", as some of you call it -- is "Anti-Bullying Awareness Month" in a country called America. Bullying encompassing any aggressive or abusive behavior, often involving an imbalance of power. It seems like a fine idea, to bring these issues to the table that need to be dealt with.

Namely, the treatment of mages. While the population here is far more tolerant than those I'm used to dealing with, it's important to remember that there is a difference between magic intended to help people and magic intended to hurt people. As I understand it, this castle has used magic many times to hurt people -- but you should not let your world view be warped by these experiences. Fear does terrible things to a man, and sweeping generalizations will only cause problems - both for those who make them and those who are encompassed by them.

If you're interested in hearing more about this, I ... am working on a manifesto about mage rights, though it's currently in my room. I'd be happy to deliver you a copy once I've completed it.
