Entrée de Journal Deux: Living Arrangements.

After my rather abrupt entrance the other day and a few attempts at trying to return; it would appear that I am stuck here, so I suppose proper introductions are in order.

My name is Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, a surname I hope will be familiar to at least a few of you, pureblood wizard, from a long line of purebloods and no doubt wealthier than you could hope to be.

I did study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, initially with Albus Dumbledore as headmaster and then Professor Snape my old head of house.

[Soft frown and a quiet pause for a moment before changing tack]

Anyway I have been told I live next door to an angel and that there's a demon on the other side of him, I've not actually met either of them but am I the only one that finds this a little bit disconcerting?

I'm not going to have the fires of hell suddenly lick up my bedroom door whilst some celestial battle goes on, am I? Whose bright idea was it to put those particular forms of life together?

Oh Joy...and apparently a demon hunter further down the hall from them...

Yes this will go well.

[sighs huffily and walks with the journal in his hand]

And guess who else the castle has deemed fit for sticking me on the same hall as...

[Insert girlish shriek before a yell issues out]

Bloody hell Longbottom! Your toad in my sodding loo!

Oh, I'd rather I hadn't been changed, rather he hadn't died...
but I've enjoyed it anyway... after about the first hundred years or so.

I was still trying not to live off the blood of innocents. I wouldn't eat unless it was from someone whom I knew was a murderer or rapist or...

I was starving, and tormented constantly by the fact that I could not revenge my brother's death... Aubrey had made that abundantly clear. He would have killed me had he not enjoyed tormenting me so much.

But... I did revenge him, eventually. Shortly before I came. I would have killed him, but he offered me blood in exchange. The blood of another vampire gives us their strength, allows us to hear their thoughts...
He has no privacy from me anymore.

He answers to me now - or he will, when I return, and that is no small payment. Neither was the blood. They do not repay what he took, but I am content with it for now.

Yes. It's lucky I never really had problems with any of the others - just him. Same bloodline, and he's probably about 100 years older... any more older and he wouldn't have bothered, any other bloodline and he wouldn't have had the strength to toy with me.

The most powerful I know of. Jager possibly knows older, more powerful ones... but it is rare that a vampire older than him is seen. They must exist, but they keep to themselves.

Well... being stronger than us they can no doubt be very near without any of us detecting it if they shield. They don't concern themselves with our affairs, though, or show up on claimed territories or in cafes and such the like.

How would you know if you can't sense them?

They cannot hide their appearance from us, only their aura... and a discerning vampire can tell when someone is shielding an aura. We'd know.

Jager would know, especially if he recognized them, and then their cover would be blown.

About as well as anyone does, and better than most as he's been a sort of mentor to me of late. Why?

I'd never heard of him, I was just curious, vampires are a rather private race back home.

I figure they're pretty private everywhere.
I don't spend much time among humans, back home. And when I do, they don't know what I am.
