No one's said much in days. None of them but that quiet friend of theirs, and their stupid party.

Before I came here, everyone cared about me. If I was sick, people were urging me to bed, tending to my every need. They were worried, even if it was just a headache. If I was angry, they tried their best to make me happy, all the time. I could do no wrong. They devoted themselves to me. They devoted themselves to the war.

Very few people here care. Ty Lee and Mai, and Kal-El.

The rest of them are horrible people.

And I still don't think it's possible. How would I possibly break down like that? It's just...

...it's just absurd.

I hate proverbs. They're extremely well-known in the Fire nation's culture, though few people in my generation (or even my father's generation) use them. They tend to be silly little remarks that should be obvious to everyone already, or they give unnecessary praise to the small, insignificant things.

For example: "Do not remove a fly from your friend's forehead with a hatchet." I don't even need to explain how obvious the message there is.

And this bit of stupidity: "Don't fall before you're pushed." Don't fall at all.

Or this one: "A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections." That's ridiculous. A diamond with a flaw is useless. Flaws make it useless. It makes it worth just as much as a perfect pebble -- which isn't very much at all.

....Yeah..... yeah! I can! I can do it! [sighs, feels a bit better]

Okay, I'm on my way! I'll... somersault over them all! [the door opens, sounds of STRUGGLE, and TIMESKIP, she's let herself in azula's room]

Gosh! That was hard! [looks around, then goes to give azula a big hug]

[she closes the door behind Ty Lee and accepts the hug. squissshed]

Well... you certainly left them behind, they weren't even in sight.

[just keeps clinging on to Azula, looks around the room again all paranoid] Well, I had to run like the wind, and I was flipping around a lot so they wouldn't grab me. I think I kicked a few in the face by accident!

[hesitates] And people have been saying that maybe they're not really there! But that's crazy! I'm can see perfectly fine, and they're real!

[she's just staring at Ty Lee, the slightest bit uncomfortable. Craziness is not a good subject, lately.]

Perhaps it's a trick of the castle.

[as soon as she says that, she does this face] Why would it do that to me?

I don't know; why does it do anything to anyone?

Maybe it's just commenting on how much you need attention.

That's true! But usually it does bad stuff like this to... well, people that deserve it! I haven't done anything wrong recently, I don't think!

[pause]....Heyyyyyyyyyy! Azula!

I never thought diamonds were worth overmuch anyway; what can you do with them, really?

Mind, people who enjoy them do so because they're nice to look at - I imagine a chipped diamond would still hold some beauty.

Diamonds are just a sign of wealth. They're an Earth Kingdom thing, too –– that's why we don't use them anymore, in the Fire Nation. But they still aren't worth anything, damaged. Any stone looks ugly when chipped.
