Alcohol+Food = fantastic

I have discovered that cooking with Sake can create some really amazing results...it's kind of a touchy art, though. There are too many different kinds of Sake that taste good only with certain things apparently. I used...some...Gingi I think it was called with salmon and...oh man. It was amazing.

I think experimenting is about to ensue. I might go talk to one of the restaurants in town and ask for some tips because I think I'm in love.

Yes, I'm sure many of you already knew this but it's a new discovery for me. I'd never touched the stuff before, to be honest. I'm a little bit of a lightweight, you see, and I didn't cook nearly as much at home as I do here so that never occured to me. I also seem to be becoming obsessed with the use of Wasabi. I can NOT handle the stuff gracefully because, I gotta face the facts, Hot food and me..well I love it but I'm SUCH a wuss about it. You should see me carry on if I get a piece of sushi with too much wasabi on it. It's ridiculous how I flail about. (though I imagine that if you're not me it's pretty entertaining to watch).

I still prefer baking but whenever I bake I make MASS quantities of food and that can get a little old.
I think tonight I might make some salmon with a caramel glaze or something..it sounds really good...I like salmon a little too much I think. I can't help it that it's so incredible though!

It still ends up resulting in certain intoxicating qualities, from what I have heard.

Bear in mind I speak from theory, not a practical understanding.

I have... not had much need for nourishment, you see.

Perhaps I might give it's creation a try.

[ooc; Lana be warned. Xemnas wants to bake sweets. x)]

Join you...

You... do not mind?

[ooc; XD! I have no idea where this came from but joking with Xigbar-mun, apparently they made chocolate in the Org. *Dies* So yes. IT WILL HAPPEN. ]

Then I will be there.

[ooc; Gosh I'd love to, but I have a midterm project to do and I know once I start logging, I wont move ;-; But this would certainly result in... revealing interesting sweet-making skills that's for certain. x)]

You too. You're very nice. Thank you.

I've never tried sake before but I've cooked with wine. Might have to give the sake thing a try next time.

(And I'm not positive about sake, but if it's anything like wine the alcohol content cooks out of it when you heat it--if that helps at all?)

I suppose I should wander downstairs here after a while and find myself something to eat. I'm not thrilled about the idea of ghosts in the kitchen, though....

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that means leaving my room then. I've never met a ghost yet that wasn't completely homicidal. This should be interesting.

I hope so. Almost everyone I've spoken with so far over the journal has seemed pretty decent. I nearly had a coronary the first time I saw one too...but I think that was because the damn thing pushed its hand into my chest and tried to rip my heart out.

I don't think we've met yet, have we? I'm Henry.

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Yeah....

It's nice to meet you too, Lana. I'm from a little town in Pennsylvania called Ashfield. On Earth. Seems kinda funny having to say it, but yeah. Earth.

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...I'm not sure where Metropolis is exactly, but I know where Kansas is.

It's weird being in a place with so many people who aren't from Earth...I had to try to explain a while ago what a photographer is. Do you know how hard that is?

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That's kind of sad. Although I guess if you didn't know what it is, you wouldn't really miss it would you?

Can I ask you a question Lana?

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone named Claire said something a while ago about...the castle taking things from people. Is that true?

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. Thanks.... [transcribed sigh]

[identity profile] h-townshend.livejournal.com 2007-03-21 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It's okay...I guess I got off easy, all things considered. It would be horrible to lose your memories or something like that.

All I have to worry about is mismatched socks. [transcribed weak laugh]
