When people leave and come back, do they normally look back through the old stuff they wrote in here?
I thought about doing that earlier, but...there's a lot of stuff in this book. It feels like I'd have to sit down and look for hours to find anything. Plus it seems like it would be sort of weird...

...well, you can look back in the journal? I've found a bunch of stuff that I think happened before I got here, but I haven't found anything that I wrote yet. The old me, I mean.

[dictated;]
Yeah, I think so? Unless you make it so only certain people can see them, I mean. I'm not really entirely clear on all of this yet, I just got here not long ago.

Alright, that's good to know.
I thought at first that maybe I should, but the more I think about it...it would just be weird.
no subject
But why'd you think it'd be weird?
no subject
You don't think it would be? Reading through stuff you don't remember writing? Talking to people you don't remember?
no subject
Possibly, but it's better to know what I did than have people know and possibly hold it over me.
But that's just me.
no subject
...that's a good point. Maybe I'll keep thinking about it.
[a long pause]
Do you remember...did I do anything like that?

[a pause, while he tries to figure out whose handwriting that is XD; ]
...Kaylee? You were here before too?

Kind of like what happened to me. Does it happen a lot? I mean, people leaving and showing up again?

I guess it's gotta be hard on the people that knew them, huh?

That's what I thought too. And someone said that something bad happened while I was here the first time, so...

Yeah, I probably won't do it.
[a soft laugh] The time it would take to find anything is enough reason not to. These journals have an awful lot of stuff in them.

Any particular reason? Or just the...weirdness?

The past is the past, and you might not like what you find.
[dictated;]
...yeah.
Star said something about not wanting to know what happened to the other me.

Personally I'm not too sure I'd look. Bit of a pandora's box isn't it? That or you might end up feeling like you have to meet some sort of expectations or something because of what your other self did, or didn't do, here.
no subject
I don't know...I've kind of already got that feeling. Like I'm already disappointing people because I'm not the other me.
no subject
Well in that case why make it worse by looking? Why go adding specific ideas as to why you might be disappointing those people?
And in a way of course you're going to disappoint some people - you're you, and not the other bloke. Er, version of you. Obviously you look like him, sound like him, and so on but it's impossible to be him. You'd just end up miserable and they'd probably still be disappointed cos it's an act.
no subject
...yeah. You're right.
Thanks for the advice, uh...?

It's nice to meet you Rose. I'm Henry.

Nice to meet you too.

...I didn't even think of that.

Did you just arrive here, too?
no subject
Yeah, a couple days ago. When did you get here?
