This Valentine's Ball and Feast seem a little suspect--Is this castle trying to lure us into a trap? Who is behind this ball? this feast?

I have been researching what a "Valentine" is. I thought that it must be some sort of disciple, or apprentice, and I was going to require my nephew to be my Valentine. However, I'm beginning to think that it is a romantic suggestion. It seems very nice! Especially for youth...

I hope my nephew becomes someone's Valentine.

Ah, if only I were a little younger. I would have been many girls Valentines.

Martyr? That sounds dangerous. I thought it was a time you gave candy hearts and chocolates to a memeber of the opposite sex. I researched this heavily in this libraries "magazine" section--the glossy, futuristic booklets. I figured those must be the most current authorities on the subject.

Since I have no one to accompany me to the ball, I think I will only go to the feast. To keep an eye out for trouble.
