[Spike is bored. Now that he survived his least favorite holiday (which left him more than a little sore) and his minor jobless crisis is over, he's back in his default state of general apathy towards most everything. He's sitting behind the counter of a certain -- currently empty -- candy store, playing with an unlit cigarette in his fingers. Clearly hard at work.

A minute later he puts his willpower aside, has the cigarette lit, and is thumbing through the journal for any stories he hasn't read yet. He really should have brought a book with him. Why on Earth he thought any job would be better than nothing... but he can't quit now. Just a few more hours to kill, and he's already had a nap.]

Anyone interested a riveting game of Tic-Tac-Toe?

ooc: last post for Spike for the Friends loss. Open over journal/at the Candy Bonsai!

[For those who happen to wander into the lobby this afternoon, you'll see an unusual sight. The couch and chairs are all pushed up against the far wall and in the middle of the floor you'll find Apollo stretched out and...painting. A stack of large blank canvases are laying next to him. On his other side he has tubes of paint in all sorts of colors.

For anyone who steps closer, you will see that he's painting a bunch of flowers. Every few moments he'll switch colors and use his fingers to mix the paint on the canvas. You might even notice that he himself is covered in paint, with random spots of color decorating his arms and face. He might even have a spot of green in his hair. Yikes.]

[ Filtered content done, Duke heads outside for no real good reason other than he's been inside the castle for far too long. He finds himself a spot against the wall somewhere and plunks himself there, journal in his lap to dictate again. ]

... What is the known limitation of wishing? [ A pause, and some expanding on the idea. ]

I am aware of the inability to wish for objects which have the purpose of causing harm. Is there problems with wishing for living beings - not other humanoids, but... [ Monsters isn't the word he thinks he should use here.

Maybe he'll just trail off and wait to see if anyone has something to say.

((ooc: Feel free to spot him on his way down, or outside in the leaves. He won't let them pile up that much on him.))

[Down in the kitchens Vivi is making all kinds of messes. Flour everywhere, bowls upended with their contents dumped on the counters, broken eggs and milk making the floor slippery, and so on. Vivi stands on a chair covered in flour as well and trying to mix batter in a bowl much too big for her.]

I've been here for awhile now so it's time for me to be a big girl now! I'm going to make pancakes for everyone!

[A frustrated sigh after he finishes writing in the filters. Nikola Tesla is not a happy man.]

Okay, let's see here. You have someone breaking out of a jail. And then the outposts are all blown to kingdom come. And then no one does a thing. Really, I've seen more action in a crime TV show when all they had was a ransom note. You people know who did it, why aren't you doing anything about it?

[A huff.] But enough about that. Honestly, like what I say is going to be taken into account...but I've been feeling rather bored as of late. There are a lot of you who are new, aren't you?

If any of you is actually interesting enough to talk to, I wouldn't mind having a chat so I don't die of complete boredom over here. But, of course, ninety nine percent of you will turn out to be incredibly dull and will be wasting my time, so really, consider your decision before throwing yourselves at your journal. And actually think a little before responding. Really, thinking isn't illegal yet, but so many of you sidestep it when talking to people that I wonder if brains actually exist in other worlds.

...Don't disappoint me, Paradisa.

[So this guy just pretty much insulted all of you. WHAT DO?]

[This here is dictated into the journal! Wow, exciting.]

So I know there used to be some priests here, but have they all gone home? It's sort of hard to keep track of that sort of thing.

Advent starts soon, or at least I think it does. I'm not really sure what year it is in this place. Anyway, maybe it's a little stupid, but having a wreath would be nice. I could probably just make one, but unless it's blessed I don't think it really counts. I haven't had one in a long time and I'd like to do it right, I guess.

[A pause, and the quiet sound of a match sparking to life might be picked up.]

Damn. I haven't been to America in a long time, so I don't know if this is still a thing -- but I'm missing holiday pancakes at IHOP, too.

[Cole's voice filters through the journal clearly. And, for those people who happen to be in the lobby, or just walking in, they'll see a decent number of clocks starting to pop out of nowhere, accompanied by a shimmering effect as Cole appears.

A second later, and he's sitting on the tallest one, a leg hanging down and his journal in his lap.]

[There are still paths to and from the doorways in the lobby, meeting in the centre, but every other inch of the lobby is covered with floor clocks of different styles, and the walls covered in wall clocks. Cole himself, is staring off rather blankly into the distance.]

((OOC: Bakcdated to yesterday (26th). Feel free to come and snap Cole out of it. He should be pretty easy to wake up. All of this is part of this OOC Comm post.))

While I was on the expedition, I learned a lot of things about this world. But there are still some unanswered questions. I've read through the journals but I would like to hear first-hand accounts on certain events.

I heard that something happened to certain residents during December of 2009, and that in January of 2010 there was a sudden surge of residents arriving at the castle. If anyone could give me details surrounding the events from these two times, I would appreciate it.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
