[Eleven grunts as he falls against the wall. If he's regenerating he'll be damned if he's going to do it in BED. He's folded the journal open and stuck it in his pocket so he doesn't have to hold it.]

Those of you who've been wondering- I'm... less than okay. In fact, I'm so less than okay that I'm more on my way to terrible rather than okay. [He sighs,] It would seem that I've been slowly getting memories of my future, things I haven't done yet, things that I.... don't remember. The problem is that I'm not unconscious and, well, it doesn't seem to be agre-AAA [He cries out in pain, grabbing his head] -eeing with me.

[He's made it to the console room (finally) and leans heavily on the console as he continues dictating. He looks down at his hands, which have started to glow at this point] I don't know what's going to happen and I most certainly don't like where all signs are indicating this is heading. All I ask is that all of you stay away from my TARDIS until whatever this is has run its course. I can't risk any of you-- [His words are cut off by another pained cry] Any of you getting hurt because of this.

((ooc: Here be the culmination of the canonbump! Eleven will be going through a sort of mini regeneration (Dude's aging a couple of centuries in one go, that's not fun). Open over the journal or if you're brave/foolhardy enough to go into the TARDIS))

[The good Doctor finds himself whisked away to an alien world, completely unaware of his current location; pretty standard stuff for everyone who arrives here on their first day. Though, being the smart guy he is, it wasn't hard for him to deduct that the numerous rooms with numbers on their door correlated with the number he had on his journal, so decided to go see if there was a room with the same number.

And there it was, right on the money.

He spent a moment contemplating going in, considering he had no idea what this place was. Heck, it could've been some kind of prison for all he knew, even if a castle was a bit too fancy for a prison. Still, it wouldn't surprise him considering his track record, so he decided to take the chance and opened the door, half-expecting to be greeted by something unpleasant.

Yet he wasn't all that unimpressed. He closed the door behind him, slowly examining his room for anything. Nothing in particular, just anything at all, as if he knew there was something in here. But there wasn't. It was just a room, one he could easily see himself operating from. Things seemed a little better!

Finally, he sat down at a neat little desk and took his journal from his pocket, flicking through it idly.
]

"Not bad...not bad at all! Of course I'll need the room spruced up a bit because the decor is just a tad too archaic for my liking, but it could be so much worse. Hohoho...d'ooooohohohohoho!"

[If Haruhi had the time to think about this, she would have filtered the following message away from Tamaki. As it stands, she sounds a little exasperated as she says:]

This isn't an emergency, and I don't want to cause any panic, but would someone bring some bandages and ointment to the WildKat? It's nothing serious, but I think Hinata is on a loss, and it's too crowded in here for me to leave it alone right now.

Er - thank you very much.

Note: Prose or [action] are a-okay. If anyone has Words with Friends I can ICly play with you! my username is Lollobrigida. If you have Words with Friends, just drop your username in a comment and people can play with you!

Jo has raided the game room and the library. All the board games that she could find, without actually wishing them up, were now placed out on the tables that she'd set up earlier in the week. The biggest thought she has is that this'll just be a lazy weekend for people to relax and enjoy some actual normal company. Of course, there's a chance that this will turn into something else, but for the moment (which would be just while she's setting things up) she'll remain hopeful.

With the games set up around the varied tables, Jo takes a seat at the Scrabble board and starts to flip the letter tiles upside down in the lid of the box. She'll try to rope people into games as they walk by.

[there's some shuffle as the journal is pushed open, and after a minute of considering what to say, Sweets speaks]

I was reminded not too long ago [read: Halloween] that I promised someone [read: Mindy] a John Wayne movie marathon. I fully intend to follow through sometime this month, but I was wondering if there was anyone else who might be interested?

I know that some people don't know who John Wayne is, or ... possibly even what movies are, so it could even be considered a cultural event. You can see a piece of something from our worlds that you wouldn't normally see in yours. Granted, these are old western films, so they don't necessarily have the best track record in terms of realism -- that wasn't really what they were for -- or ... matters of race and gender, but they're still rather enjoyable in their own right.

[a beat. he's an academic, you'll have to forgive him.]

My point being, I thought it would be a good community building exercise. I'll even bring popcorn.

Who: Katherine and Morgana, Lilah, and Tess.
Where: Locations in the City. Katherine is getting a feel for the area.
When: Saturday afternoon.

For the most part Katherine was very good at keeping her presence a secret. She spent countless years hiding from people who would have been interested in finding her, either for their own personal needs or to kill her. The drawback to the castle was that it seemed everyone knew too much about everyone else. It didn't bode well for Katherine and when Alaric just vanished, she assumed that things would just get more complicated for her. Not having a roommate who was easy to compel meant she had to make other arrangements for her needs.

Plus, Stefan seemed to think he could sort out whatever nefarious plan she was in the midst of. It was really irritating that he automatically assumed she was up to something when she had only started to get her feet wet with the city and its surroundings. She'd sort something out eventually, but for now she was just relieved to be in a place where Klaus couldn't find her.

The city was nice. It reminded her of a simpler time, but it also reminded her of the fact that she is very glad to have survived through all of this to enjoy the things that the current time has to offer her.

For the moment, Katherine was just wandering the city, stopping in the various stores and trying to see what exactly was of any interest, if any, to her and what she could do with it.

Who: Mindy and John
What: Nic Cage Movie Night
When: Saturday.
Where: The Theatre
Note: If you are a Nic Cage fan, and want to watch Con Air with John and Mindy - feel free to drop in and chill. They might watch other Cage movies too.

Finding the time to do their movie night was somewhat of a struggle. She'd lost a week of time, there were things happening with her dogs and then when she finally found her dog she really didn't want to talk to anyone. She postponed movies that had actors that looked like her father for a reason. She didn't want to look at him, to think that he was dead back home. Being here, she had pressed pause but it was finally sinking in that there wasn't any going back and fixing it. He was going to stay dead and if she was going to stay here, then she'd never get to finish the job she started.

She'd never make it better. Never get to take down D'Amico the way she wanted to. Even if she died back home, she'd be with her dad, but here she was alone. She was alone and someone killed one of her dogs.

After a few weeks she needed a distraction that wasn't an expedition and wasn't with Damian. She wanted something normal. Something a kid could do to not really pay attention to all the scum and criminals that were out there. It's possible that watching Con Air wasn't going to be the answer, but it was something to do. Mindy dropped by John's room and made sure he was up for it and then she went to the kitchen to make popcorn while he went to get the movie. They'd meet up in the theatre and then it'd be a Nic Cage-a-Thon. Well, as close to it as one could get.

Walking into the theatre, she stuck up a sign on the door that said "Nic Cage-A-Thon - Saturday" just in case anyone else wanted to join them.

[For all the terrible things this place can put you through, sometimes it can do a complete 180 and hit you with a pleasant surprise when you're least expecting it.

Like how Julia had found herself in the possession of a reminder of the past, taking the form of a shiny, new red car. Something she hadn't even realized she missed having around this much until now. It's not an exact replica; the color isn't quite identical, the body is somewhat altered, and it'll probably handle a bit differently. But it's enough.

So much that she still hasn't even taken her eyes off of it. She's completely lost track of how long she's been out here on the castle lawn, examining all the details. At this point in time, however, there's the faint sound of a motor starting up before--]

Not bad.

[She'd been so absorbed in what she was doing that she'd neglected to notice her journal had fallen open onto one of the seats, until she suddenly catches sight of it out of the corner of her eye. But now that she sees it, there might be something she wants to send out.]

⌠ FILTERED FROM FIRST GENS; ⌡

Just reminding you guys we're leaving early tomorrow morning. We can meet in the lobby, and the Doctor'll be providing a TARDIS to help jumpstart the trip to the border.

If you really want to bring a mount, then you can, but for this trip I'd actually suggest you don't. It's only a day or two's brisk walk, and then we'll be going into an enclosed space. Not exceptionally horse friendly.

And for anyone willing to bite the bullet, I want to keep a few people posted outside the entrance if we do gain access. If it's a trap, I want to make sure there are guards on the outside watching our backs. [ So the Spider Incident NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN... ] Obviously it's best if someone volunteers now so I don't have to single anyone out later.

[ ooc; Normally anyone who volunteers as a guard would...not be participating in tomb shenanigans. CLEARLY a problem. But it'd also be stupid not to post guards, considering their history.

So here's the thing: If your character volunteers to guard the entrance, we will have a magically convenient wind drag them in with the rest of the group before the door shuts. B) ]

My sister and I uncovered a tomb once. Somehow my being an Apostle was a trigger to open the door. That was my first time really discovering something, and the first time I met a demon. Exploring really is the best.

I didn't know who the tomb belonged to then. Of course, if I could go back I would, just to see Mary Magdalene... Well, that would be truly something.

I'm jealous of you all. I suppose that's the only drawback to being what I am in this place. Bring me a souvenir, won't you?

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
