See, it's nothing against the people the people I wake up with, but I'm sick of waking up with people I didn't fall asleep with. It's so weird. I'm not against sharing a bed if I have to, but I mean come on. I just-

[There's suddenly the sound of crying in the background and he sighs. Now dictated~]

It's so your turn. I got it last time.

[it's an odd feeling, one she really hates pinpointing once she recognizes that it's not her having a stroke or a heart attack - it's an ache, deep in her chest and she's felt it twice before since arriving here and each time it dulls a bit more. Not so sharp, not so through and through, but it still hurts all the same. Everyone was given life though, so it's ironic that she gets greeted with nothing. It doesn't take her long to make her way through the castle to find his room -- where his room had been at least, and then she just sinks to the floor pressing her back to the door tugging on her bottom lip a bit before she gets out her journal and puts on a brave face]

Seems the castle opted to take one away -- to give t'everyone else. The Doctor's gone back to the stars and space. Best this way though, here he wouldn't have realized what he was missing.

[which is quite literal since she had figured out his loss, probably before he had]

Still think I'm owed a goodbye 'least.

[Madara was kind enough to open the door for Joshua, and together, they set up a table square in the center of the room, setting out the tea cups and ordering tins of cookies and cakes from the ghosts. Of course, the table was set for four and the others hadn't quite arrived yet, which left Joshua and Madara with the daunting task of choosing all of their favorite kinds of pastries. It was quite a challenge, seeing as they both had quite a few.]

[[ooc: tea party backdated to May 16, or last Saturday. I'm going to set up a few posts, and I would suggest that post order goes something like Rin - Joshua - Madara - Zexion - Mr. H (if he makes it). backlogging is encouraged. 8Db]]

[The journal falls open, picking up voices mid-conversation. Neither are even aware there was a journal in the room, and Parker's far too enthralled by her latest discovery to really care about a few things that get knocked over.]

And this. Is called what. [a pause] Come on, you know it.

Mmmmm, binawee.

Close enough. No, hand it over. It's not for eating. You'll get the stomach ache of a lifetime. [some shuffling noises] And this is called what.

Zzzzzzzip!

Yeah, that's how it sounds. What is it.

Zzzzzzzip wine.

Zzzzzzzzip line. Very good. You just earned yourself another scoop of ice cream.

I wonder if it's more cruel than kind to give the people of this castle these children. Some people may not want children, but there are those of us who do.

And if this is what my daughter is supposed to look and be like, I hate to think of her going away.

[/Private]

This happened before?

[pause, before sadly...]

How long did it last?

[If anyone comes into the second floor of the library, they'll find a large pile of books in front of one of the stacks. If one were to get close enough to the pile, perhaps to try to tidy up or summon a ghost to do it, they may hear light snoring coming from underneath it. That's just Tenpou, fast asleep as the exhaustion of the last few days of his life have finally caught up to him. Feel free to disturb him, although he's not at his most alert when he wakes up.]

((OOC: Just came back and I'm already failboat. ~_~ Got caught up in family stuff this weekend out of the blue so I didn't get a chance to tag around as much as I would have liked. But here, have a wide open post as a consolation prize.))

[He had spent the last hour just watching the boy.

Coffee skin and eyes like the child's mother. For Ianto it was like the past coming back to haunt him. After being woken by the sound of cries, where he soon discovered that there was no doubting the set of lungs on the toddler, Ianto was now staring at what was once his future, a lifetime ago.

So far Ianto had cleaned the room, explored the nursery, flicked though his journal for information, all to stop looking at the ghost of Lisa in the boy's face.

The boy was now kicking a rugby ball, with all the strength his chubby little legs could muster. Cheek streaked with the remains of a chocolate orange. It was painful to watch but now he'd been forced to see him, he couldn't look away.]

This place really gets into your head, doesn't it?

[Murmurs softly, his voice a little gruff]

Do they have names or do we name them? Does anyone know?

We all know what's going to happen to these children, thus, you all know there's no point in getting attached, and even less point in whining about it. So, citizens of Paradisa, Prime and I are taking preemptive measures to avoid the predictable whining and sobbing at the end of this week.

Anyone bemoaning their lack of offspring by the end of the week is going to have a finger broken for every complaint.

This is your first and last warning.

Have a lovely day.

[So... if you're a Castle with a twisted sense of humor giving people kids, you obviously give an intersex resident an intersex child, without bothering about a partner, right? Zora didn't feel the need to comment yesterday when s/he showed up, but now the journal is picking up sounds of them outside...]

No, don't... [giggle] Olive~!

[toddler happy babble]

Sweetheart... [another giggle]

[she notices the journal, opened in the breeze, and comments to the world in general.]
You know... I never could have been a mother back home. Wasn't even sure that I liked children. But Olive... well, I'm glad, is all.

[Jack surprisingly is doing well with the instant child thing. Probably because he lucked out in a complete stranger in Surreal and has only been getting in the way on occasion. All that living and he's learned to get out of the way of a woman taking care of her child. Though it is their child, and he's trying to sort out how exactly that worked out... since he'd never even met her before waking up in bed with her]

I hear the Doctor went home, I suppose I'll just have to rely on the rest of the lot to give me a hard time over my new daughter with the lovely Surreal. [and there's the little girl running across the room at what is considered top speed for a two year old]

Hopefully not being able to die will actually help me survive instant parenthood.
[identity profile] eightpacts.livejournal.com
[Someone's in the kitchen, making lunch while watching over a little girl playing with his Umbreon, Ten. The little girl has blonde hair and blue eyes, but how the girl has blue eyes is a mystery to him. Despite feeling rather awkward about this, the girl calls him, "Daddy" and he couldn't possibly ignore the toddler-- she keeps following him anyway.

So he's cutting up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while his Umbreon, Ten, keeps the little girl company and out of trouble.]

[OOC: Open post and I can't believe I caved and gave the boy a child.]

[personal profile] professionaldefibrillist
[Kutner is a bit amused by the whole randomly having a kid situation. But only a bit, because getting paired with some chick he's never met to be parents isn't really his idea of a good time. Not that he doesn't like Elle, because she really does seem really nice so far, and he doesn't mind meeting new people. It's the forced parenthood he's having issues with. That, however, is a whole other can of worms.

But he's sitting on the floor of his -- their? -- room, letting their little boy who has yet to be named use him like a jungle gym, before looking up at her with a sigh]

Maybe we should give him a name. Just so, you know, we're not calling him just "him" all the time.

[a beat]

Or would that be too weird considering that we're probably not going to keep him?

[After another fun-filled night spent drinking Claire under the table, Leon isn't all that surprised to find himself waking up with a slight hangover. The whole baby's laughter thing is definitely a new twist--that's definitely one dream he'd rather not remember.

It only takes him a couple of seconds to realize that he wasn't in his bedroom. Had he gone back to Claire's room with her and just not remembered? Great. The image of his being murdered by a steroid-laden Chris Redfield flashed through his mind briefly. Still, for the first time since he'd arrived, Leon found himself glad to be a whole alternate reality away from any overprotective older brothers.

Besides, if it came down to it, they could always blame that Isobel chick again, right?]

This should be awkward.
[identity profile] finesse-bottom.livejournal.com
[it was Anya's full day at the shop and thankfully she had spent the first day of newfound parenthood baby proofing the Magick Box II from the arms reach of the little child that Amanda and her had ended up with. Now she was surrounding her with small decorative pillows over near the books. It was supposed to be like a reading nook, but it was temporarily being used as the 'make sure the baby doesn't injure itself' nook]

There! See now you are going to be perfectly safe! Oh... oh but don't eat that. Well that's ruined now. Silk too! [sighs and glances over to Amanda who is trying on different charms and pendants from behind the counter]

Oh... that's not the right charm for you at all, unless you need to get rid of -- well let's just say it's not a pleasant thing to say about yourself.

[so Donna's had her hands full, what with her BFF going home, and then discovering an /exceptionally/ rambunctious toddler. One who thinks that the cats are toys, which means that she's had to shut a certain grumpy tomcat in a closet to keep him from eating the baby for breakfast or something. and then she's had to baby-proof her room, except the baby is totally smarter than she is and has managed to get into ALL HER STUFF. not only that, but she's temperamental - much like Donna at that age - and insists on having her way; if she doesn't get it, she will plop to the ground and look EXCEPTIONALLY SAD with huuuuge brown puppy dog eyes.

anyway, her daughter's finally taking a nap, curled up with the less evil of Donna's two cats, and Donna smooths her red-brown curls, smiling a little. and then she notices that she's particularly cool, and that she has two heartbeats.]

All right, which one of you Time Lords misplaced a baby? Seriously, you lot, do I look like your baby-sitter?

[dictated in a very indifferent tone]

Once upon a time there was a world filled with people. It was like any other world. Good and bad things happened, and there were good and bad people.

Then one day Heaven and Hell appeared, and the sky went away. The people went on with their lives anyway as if everything was the same.

But everything had changed. Stars began to come down from the sky, and shadows came out of the darkness. They began to quietly replace the people with empty copies. Most didn't notice because they were good actors.

And the change wasn't for the better. The stars were made to kill, and the shadows were made to deceive. They carried out their functions without arousing any suspicion.

Then Heaven disappeared.

The world began to fight over Hell.

....

There's no ending.

[Well, aside from some mass confusion early on, Lorne is perfectly happy with this toddler situation. After all, he had babysitting practise with Connor, and is a natural parent. Even if no kid should have Lorne's skin colour with Ford's hair, poor little guy. Lorne's currently bouncing little Morgan Roadster on his knee. He sits up carefully, still grumbling, having taken most of the impact on his stinging palms. One of these is bleeding from a long but shallow cut.]

[day two of this having-a-child experience is drawing to a close. Lucy woke up yesterday with a man in her bed; normally she wouldn't necessarily think of that as a bad thing, but she'd rather like to have a say in who said man is, and she never would have picked Nathan Petrelli. They hardly know each other, Lucy considers him spoken for (which wouldn't be a deterrent except it's by Inara), and she has no interest in him sexually. At least there weren't handcuffs this time around.

There IS, however, a child. A boy, with Nathan's eyes and Lucy's fair hair, who thinks they're his parents. Lucy's found herself unreasonably terrified, because she hasn't the faintest idea of how to be a mother, but thankfully Nathan slipped easily enough into a father role. Right now he's asleep on the couch with the little boy, and Lucy's sat at the table, watching them]

[written]

I've found myself a member of a very odd little family unit. Would anyone like to have Nathan Petrelli back? I found him in my bed yesterday, and now we have a little boy. I didn't ask for either of them. I don't know how to be a mother. Or a wife. Even a pretend one.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
