[asdfghjkl; can't sleep. a weary exhale.]

So it's New York now. Bright. Loud. Biggest city in this country.

I've done a complete one-eighty coming to this place; the complete opposite from the backroads I lived in before. I never thought I'd ever come here, much less work at a clinic surrounded by these busy streets and skyscrapers.

[a pause. why was even saying anything to this book by her side? perhaps it would document her crazy trip, all the crazy memories? either way, it made her feel a bit better, knowing it would keep her mind off anything negative creeping up on her.]

Seen a lot of bodies come through these doors. Cut, shot, scraped, battered, bruised. These things never really change, though.

I was always used to administering the remedies to those people, though now that I've come here, it's different.

[an exasperated sigh uttered, a forced smile shown in a bit of amusement]

First day here; they have me doing flu shots.

I never understood why all big men turn into big babies once they see the needle...

Eh?! B-but.. what's time out?

[ with a sigh, he shifts in his seat and pouts ]

I don't like sitting in the corner, I can't make a lot of friends this way! I wonder why she told me to come here? Anija never made me sit in a corner before, he just.. [ gulp, flashbacks of brother owning him ] Maybe the corner isn't so bad! Even so, I wonder why she was so mad? The boy sitting next to me said it was okay to draw on the desk because it was mine!

.. Then I was really hungry, so I ate my snack! After my snack, I got really sleepy so I tried to take a nap. Nobody ever got mad at me for taking a nap before!

[There are some excited shrieks of the name 'Lulu' and then sounds of running]

Suzaku... Call me... when you... see this...

[ooc:  Lulu just came across one of his billboards along with a few of his more rabid female fans~  The billboards probably have him looking something like this.  XD

[Astrid's sitting on the step outside her school, looking bored. First day's over and now she's waiting for someone to pick her up, except nobody's here.

She gets out her journal to amuse herself in the interim, doodling pictures of earth animals she's seen, mainly cats and dogs if you can actually tell what they are, but there's one picture of an elephant - because its trunk and HUGE floppy ears tickled her when she saw a picture of Dumbo in a book today.

After a while, she writes in the journal in her best handwriting]

[Then she closes the journal, slots it into the pocket on her backpack and sets off in the direction they arrived from this morning.]

...hmm.

At least my assistants know how to do my job- seems like they're used to it.

Good, that means I can run off and not worry too much about how this place is running.

Does anyone need tutoring?

[a frustrated sigh is heard among sliding paper]

This is ridiculous. I can't even touch the keyboard.

I'm reduced to organising a card catalog. Some of which really needs replacing.

How someone could choose this over a simple, accessible database is completely beyond me.

School here really isn't that bad. A lot better than the Maritsu Evil Academy. At least for the most part.

Oo, and I get to go to my part-time job today! I hope it'll be fun. I hope I get to read the comic books there!

[ sounds of jotted down writing, then her voice being dictated. ]

Mm... no, that doesn't sound right.

[ you can hear the previous writing being erased for a bit, then scribbled out all together. another pause before she starts to write again. huff. she throws down the pencil and crumples up the paper before getting out a new one out. ]

I don't see the point in all of this. How does this help me in the future?

Yeah, good luck trying to make me go to school. I've been through it twice, a third time isn't really necessary. Besides, you don't use any of the stuff you learn in school in the real world, anyway. You would have figured it out on your own.

Math and Literature doesn't help you when you're shoved into lockers, as I'm sure some of you can attest~

Besides, it's not like these jobs are going to count for anything when this place switches back. So I'm going to have fun.

[she’s sitting at the table in the dining room, doing math homework. tap tap tap tap tap of pencil, and then the sound of her scratching things out. she seems... distracted]

This would be a lot easier with an abacus.

[a journal falls open on the sound of raspy breathing and then, after a moment, a wet half-cough; someone is fumbling for something very close by and a smear of red slashes across the page, then is gradually rubbed in by the unseen person's movements.

Finally the fumbling stops, and there is only labored breathing, before a scraping dragging noise, and four letters slowly appear on the page:]

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
