Happy burden

How are all of the parents doing? I'm hoping that the less enthusiastic ones have been doing better. Children can be troublesome at times but I always thought of it as a happy burden. Knowing that a young life depended on me to care for it and raise it well made me so happy and full of purpose.

I hope that whatever becomes of these children, they will be happy.

If this entire ordeal is just another week-long punishment, then this is, thankfully, the last day. Only another twelve hours of screaming, crying and general destruction left. After that, no more eye-beams, no more nonsense with feeding and diapers. In fact, I am going to be disappointed if they don’t go. I’ve failed to get attached and I have few heartstrings to tug. I doubt I’ll even bother waking up to see my little monster off.

Though, until last night, I managed to get through most nights without losing much sleep. There’s merit in a partner who doesn’t need to sleep.

Zuko Li, I’ll be dropping by to see my niece at some point this afternoon. Keep your unpatriotic friends out of the way and there won’t be any conflict.

I guess I'm considered one of the lucky ones for not getting a kid of my own...but babysitting isn't so bad, really. Seems to come naturally for some reason. Wish I knew why. Wonder if that's got somethin' to do with the memories the castle took from me.
