I wonder if Martha's all right. Been wondering for a while, actually... seems like only yesterday I was dropping my way through the smokey motorway of New New York, choking on mouthfuls of carbon monoxide... mmm, love that poison gas! Hacking my lungs out, always ace. Although, all things considered, what with the state of this place, nothing's changed at all for her. Once I pop back I don't doubt it'll be seconds after I left. And there I'll be, telling the stories of my months at Paradisa and she'll be all, 'you're mad, Doctor, you haven't gone anywhere!' and I'll need to give her a thorough education on alternate universes and time pockets and other such things like this. Then I'll take her as far away from any form of castle as I can, maybe Pseudinion, maybe... hmm, maybe New York. I mean real New York, not New New York with its insane insanity. All relative, I suppose.
[pen taps, thinking]
Well. It's a nice thought. Primary concern is actually getting out of here.
So! People of Paradisa, I've got a general question for the sake of busting that boredom. If you lot were time travellers, when would you go and why? Be creative, now! Don't want any of that 'I'd go back to yesterday so I could break up with my girlfriend instead of the other way round' raff.
Allons-y! (Or allez-y, in this case?)

Your... cake.
Both. Spent a bit of time with a cat-man and his human wife who'd just had kittens. Around the time that New Earth was created, races were already mingling and a lot of them settled there.
Then something like the Grandfather Paradox is induced? It's all still a great paradox-y thing; nobody's bothered to test it because nobody wanted to risk the possible consequences. Although...
[beginnings of equational doodling, but he stops]
... I'll spare you.

Our cake. Have you tried it?
We suppose the animals have evolved to obtain higher levels of intelligence by that time, then?
No need to spare us. We were not programmed to weave complex equations, but we understand them well enough.
Perhaps, in your world, you could find someone suicidal to test the paradox - then it wouldn't entirely matter what happened.

No, although I suppose this explains the cake epidemic a few weeks ago? How is it similar, exactly?
They're from their own planet, I believe, though if I'm not mistaken that's how their race evolved, yes. Might have something to do with crossbreeding; humanoid cats.
We've got this thing called a regard for life where I come from, so yes, it would matter, even if the person wanted to die.

If the person was going to kill themselves anyway, hypothetically, what difference would it make?
Though we suppose the potential collateral choas caused by their grandparent's death might be reason enough not to try.
How long have you been alive?
no subject
Exactly. For example, their grandfather might've been an important person in history, or had just been a small part of something bigger. Then where would that leave everyone?
Long enough.

Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see the results of something like that, don't you agree?

Oh, I'd love to find the truth about that paradox. Just with a better method. Which gives me an idea, actually... [transcribed sound of a piece of paper being pulled out and scribbling]
