Who: [livejournal.com profile] fastest & YOU
What: Someone's gotten a little bored with hiding out.
When: Saturday, January 7th
Where: Anywhere between the castle's 5th floor and the roof.
Rating: PG for now (TOY HELICOPTER...)

Joshua was more things now than he'd ever been. Apostle. Devil. Convict. Soon maybe Man could be added to that list, considering he would be eighteen in merely a few months. But that didn't seem to matter to him yet, because despite all the danger he had not only gotten himself into, but dragged others through, he was still a teenage boy.

A teenage boy who really loved sporty gadgets just as much as the next one.

And this one was rather state of the art, if not stereotypical. A toy helicopter that needed the barest hint of his supervision to fly was the best Christmas gift he could give himself, really! And unfortunately while Pharos offering up his room from the cold has been a pleasant vacation thus far, there really wasn't enough room to play with his new toy.

Which of course meant it was time to stray out of his safe hiding spot, though not with too much flash, continuing to dart among the shadows and alcoves littering the layout. Anybody wandering the upper halls or the roof of the castle might be alarmed to find the small toy hovering around, or even following them, but whoever must have been behind it wasn't about to show themselves. Good thing the battery lasts only five minutes at a time...

Zelman's reasons for being there aren't unusual. He's mostly wandering around the halls, checking the doors to see if anyone interesting has left (or, in rare cases, arrived). Maybe someone interesting will be out and about. You never know.

The buzzing is equal parts curious and annoying, though. He's not particularly aiming to wind up there, but eventually he finds himself in the hallway with the toy helicopter. He watches it with the sort of intent boredom one might send in the direction of a fly.

"...Really?"

If it gets too close to him, he'll snatch it by the tail so that all it can do is buzz ineffectually in place.

Yes, well. No matter how many years of experience you have in life, objects suddenly disappearing and reappearing somewhere else while you're looking at them? That stuff is hard to immediately comprehend.

So Joshua gets a look of surprise out of him, then mild confusion when he turns to see the thing buzzing around behind him. All of that, of course, is quickly filled with his typical brand of less-than-amused.

Now, now. Who could have done that? He had a feeling the kid was hanging around, but this... Well, call it a good hunch.

"You're lucky I don't set it on fire, kid."

That, he's a little more used to. Pharos pops up constantly like that, and often with less introduction. He swears, the place tries its damnedest to numb out surprise completely.

"What an unfortunate allegiance." Sup to you too. "Maybe a light melting around the edges would be a more suitable fate."
