What: Vivian's having tea in the city.

Where: At a coffee shop.

Tea had always been Vivian's preference to coffee. Possibly a conformation to a stereotype given that she was English, but that didn't matter to her. She had tea with her breakfast at home so why should that change when she was here? Vivian wasn't going to change her routine too much, only tweak it a little to accommodate the environment she was in.

After tending to her horse at the stables, she took a trip into the city, wanting to explore it a bit further and see what she could come across. Vivian remembered Jo telling her not so long ago about the coffee shop there so she decided to check it out for herself. Except not go for the coffee.

Soon, Vivian was seated at a booth by the window, a cup of steaming tea on the table in front of her, accompanied by a rather delicious looking blueberry muffin.

Life was good.

"With a little milk but no sugar." Helen moved her book to the side of the table, clearing a little room for when Vivian brought the tea back.

"Life often does come with risks." Although if you were her you tended to look for them, or that was how it appeared.

"Okay, thanks for telling me." She replied, sliding out of her seat but not leaving yet.

"Which can make it quite interesting sometimes," Vivian said. "I'll go get your tea now. I won't be long."

Vivian moved from the table and over to the counter to place her order. A few moments later and she was coming back over to the table, setting Helen's tea in front of her.

"There you go."

"Thank you." Helen wrapped her hands around the cup when Vivian passed it to her, answering her previous statement.

"Interesting is certainly one description of it."

She slid back into her seat again, resting her hands in her lap.

"How else would you describe it?" Vivian asked after a few moments, curious about her answer.

"Dangerous, for another." Helen lifted her cup, taking a small sip of her tea. She was waiting to see Vivian's reaction to that.

Vivian raised a eyebrow at that, remaining quiet for a few moments before speaking again.

"Hm, that's a good word for it as well."

[longaevus]

"Unless you know how to manage it, of course." Helen just left her with that thought (again).

[formersocialite]

"It depends on the situation," Vivian said. At least it did for her.

[longaevus]

"There is that." Helen gave a small nod, taking another sip of her tea as she thought.

[formersocialite]

"I take it you don't have a quiet life at home?" She asked after a few moments, curious.

[longaevus]

"One far from it." But quiet didn't suit Helen.

[formersocialite]

"It's the same for me," Vivian said, not elaborating any further.

[longaevus]

"I would hope that wasn't a negative thing?" It wasn't for her but it could be.

[formersocialite]

"Not always. Depends on the situation."

[longaevus]

"Unfortunately here most of it would be negative." There were a few positive things, mostly for her it included the opportunity to see James again, to speak with him as she used to but generally? No. It wasn't good.

[formersocialite]

"I'm sorry to hear that," Vivian said, a touch of sympathy in her tone. "My experience here has been quite mixed: both good and bad things have happened."

The positive being the people she had met ever since she arrived.

[longaevus]

"There are a few positive instances that I can recall." Those that she had met, for one, and seeing James again. "Although there are certain things that have occurred, both to me and prior to that," and she wasn't even including her previous stays, "that are a little more impacting." Being 'changed' into one of the worst points of your life? She doubted that her anger towards the castle - or irritation as she had put it then - would ease.

"By that, do you mean a loss related thing? I've heard what the castle can do to people and well, it doesn't sound at all pleasant."

Vivian was turned into a pony herself. It wasn't one of the worst things that could happen.

"Some things, yes." The others were resident induced themselves, or something that the castle had done on a whole.

"How long have you been here?" She asks after a few moments. It's a question that Vivian tended to ask people.

[longaevus]

"Since August." It felt longer than it had been - just three months - but a lot could happen in a short time.

"What about yourself?"

[formersocialite]

"May for me. You ever think it feels like longer?"

[longaevus]

"Every day." And she sounded a little resigned at that; that statement applied not only to Paradisa but to her life in general. Her life was long but had the tendancy to feel far longer.

[formersocialite]

"I understand where you're coming from," Vivian replied softly, thinking about her life back home and how tired of it she was sometimes. In a way, Paradisa had given her a bit of a break despite the strange things that had happened to her here.

"I'm sorry to hear that." It wasn't a pleasant feeling. It was a feeling that Helen had known for a long time; a long, lonely feeling and for others to also know it? She didn't like that (especially if they had only one lifetime).
