Tea had always been Vivian's preference to coffee. Possibly a conformation to a stereotype given that she was English, but that didn't matter to her. She had tea with her breakfast at home so why should that change when she was here? Vivian wasn't going to change her routine too much, only tweak it a little to accommodate the environment she was in.

After tending to her horse at the stables, she took a trip into the city, wanting to explore it a bit further and see what she could come across. Vivian remembered Jo telling her not so long ago about the coffee shop there so she decided to check it out for herself. Except not go for the coffee.

Soon, Vivian was seated at a booth by the window, a cup of steaming tea on the table in front of her, accompanied by a rather delicious looking blueberry muffin.

Life was good.

"Every day." And she sounded a little resigned at that; that statement applied not only to Paradisa but to her life in general. Her life was long but had the tendancy to feel far longer.

"I understand where you're coming from," Vivian replied softly, thinking about her life back home and how tired of it she was sometimes. In a way, Paradisa had given her a bit of a break despite the strange things that had happened to her here.

"I'm sorry to hear that." It wasn't a pleasant feeling. It was a feeling that Helen had known for a long time; a long, lonely feeling and for others to also know it? She didn't like that (especially if they had only one lifetime).

"Thanks, but it's okay. I've been dealing with it." A part of her wanted to go home and see what was going on, to see what had happened after what she did.

Helen gave a nod; Vivian may have thought it okay but Helen knew that it wasn't something pleasant regardless of that. "Has there been anyone here that you've known?" Helen had a few but she knew that not everyone did.

"No," Vivian replied, shaking her head. "There hasn't been anyone here that I know from back home. Although saying that I haven't even asked other residents if the people I do know were here before and left."

Helen gave a small nod to that. She didn't know whether Vivian was glad that no one was here or not - it could be either, and it was for her.

"There are two here that I know from home, both arrived before I did." Technically. Nikola had arrived first and she'd arrived two times before James had.

She was glad that there wasn't anyone she knew here. Vivian didn't trust anyone at home and she wouldn't feel comfortable with them being around.

"Do you know them very well or are they a casual acquaintance?"

"We've been friends for many years." It was an understatement but it was the closest that Vivian was getting to the truth. Helen took a sip of her tea before continuing. "One I'm actually rather glad to see." Because she couldn't.

"That's always good. Having someone you like around from home. " Vivian replied with a slight smile. "I keep thinking that one day I'll have people I know from where I'm from here."

[longaevus]

"It doesn't prevent me from worrying, though." Although Helen would whether they were here or back home.

"Perhaps in time."

"Oh no, of course. I can understand why you would worry." Vivian at least knew that.

"My sentiments exactly."

[longaevus]

"Until then it would seem that you have people here." Because no one is really alone, and Helen would count herself a friend now?

[formersocialite]

"That's quite true. I'm grateful for the friends that I have, " she replied with a warm smile. If Helen asked, then Vivian would say yes, that she did count.

[longaevus]

"It does make all the difference." Because being here for so long without that? Oh Helen knew how hard it was.
