[Apparently, when you're raised in a military-like compound and not exposed to pop-culture while you grow up -- you miss out on a lot of things. Max has recently realized that she doesn't exactly know all of the movies that Jo and Julia grew up loving. We'll skip over the part where Jo and Julia know all the words to Lawfully Pretty and skip right to where they're trying to explain to Max that hard work does pay off and that the core message is really about accepting you for yourself, and that the sequel deals with a side of animal rights. Which, they figure Max will appreciate.]

We can watch the next one, too. [You know, in case Gwaine isn't back yet. She glances to the boys, because she is not putting in Die With Difficulty again. This is supposed to be making Julia feel better.]

[Don't mind Julia. She's only half-listening to this conversation because she's decided to take it upon herself to go ahead and put in that second movie. In fact, she kind of snatched it and almost ran with it before anyone could say otherwise.

Lawfully Pretty? Is totally serious shit. Anyone who comes between her and it will die.

She seems in pretty upbeat spirits, though. At least, in comparison to what she has been all week. After she pops the movie in, she stays on the floor, propped on her knees, staring up at the television screen almost excitedly.]

Here we go.

You know, her ex-boyfriend in the first one looked a lot like Alaric. [Oh, Matt Davis.]

Does anyone want tater tots? [Yep. Potatoes.]

[hand shoots up in the air in favor of small, fried, potato balls, before her head tips to the side]

He did.

[another beat]

[Of course, that'll be her hand going up in the air, too. She doesn't even bother to look away from the screen.

But she really wishes they'd be quiet. Who cares about this Alaric guy? There's a movie coming on! She makes a little "shh"ing noise.]

It's starting.

[Spike is hanging out on a nearby chair, half-listening until Jo mentions tater tots. Oh yes god, an out.]

Don't get up, I'll grab them. [And he shoots right up before Jo has the slightest chance to beat him. He might have to grab a few beers while he's at it to make it through this one. (Or maybe pretend to answer the door and sneak out the back.)]

[Jo slides down off the couch to sit near Julia on the floor. Her head rests to her shoulder, trying to be the comforting best friend that she is.]

Did you use my shampoo?

[Max cares not for the movie, and will be shifting around to get Spike's attention]

Don't forget the ketchup.

[it's said in a hushed whisper, but Spike's ears aren't as good as Max's.]

[Maybe his hearing isn't as good as Max's, but he's the first one to react to the knock at the door -- which is definitely not just Spike hitting his knuckles against a cabinet.]

Oh, who could that be? I'll get it. [He gets to the door and opens it just far enough that nobody could see past him... and talks to himself.] Hello there. No we don't need any-- oh, that is nice. [Glancing back quickly.] Don't worry, I'll take care of this.

[And out he goes!]

[A look at him as he goes out the back. SHE KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE DOING, MISTER.]

Did he even... nope. [Gets up to go get the food. She'll be back BFFs, don't you worry.]

You said ketchup?

[glances back at her with a grin]

Yep. Lots of it.

[Spike slips back in after a not-suspicious-at-all amount of time, smelling vaguely of smoke. Nobody should notice!]

So, what's the next movie? [They're already on the next one, right?]

Lawfully Perfect 2. Bruiser's Bill. It's more animal rights than believe in yourself.

Came back too soon, huh? [He sits back down near them anyway though. It's getting chilly out there.]

I like it. There's a lot more Bruiser in this one.

[She returns from the kitchen with the tots and the ketchup. Both things that Spike said he'd take care of, but instead he ducked outside for.]

You'll learn something, I'm sure of it.

[Just because he didn't take care of it, doesn't mean he won't steal them now! He grabs a handful as soon as she's within range.]

Sounds fun.

[The tots go to Max, though she'll swat Spike's hand later for stealing them.]

[Tater tots! This is Max reaching for the ketchup and pouring a decent amount over her share of it]

[Sorry, guys. Julia's still a little too distracted by her own... issues to have fully paid attention to her surroundings. But, hey, tater tots! She wanted some too :(

Quietly, she finally turns away from the movie to see what's going on.]

Huh? [He remembers eventually, but it takes him a minute since now he's glancing towards Julia.] Oh-- yeah. Sorry, there was someone at the door.

[Well, so much for her tater tots. She doesn't really have the motivation to go get them for herself. She hasn't really had the motivation for a lot of things lately.

It won't be long before she turns right back to that movie.]
