Happy Diwali [open]

Where: Everywhere (though just the ballroom for the feast)
Rating: Um, not more than PG? This is a family holiday, guys, come on...

Diwali is living up to it’s name today. The lights are everywhere today both outside and in.  Stands of candles line the lobby like a temple and lanterns hang from the very ceiling. Everywhere there is light.

Today, however, you can add new smells and sounds to the list as well. Music drifts through the air into the lobby, along with the fragrant, spice filled scents of foods and sweets.

Alleria notices this young man seemingly having difficulty deciding what to do with the food, so she sidles up next to him. Inclining her head toward the food, she eyes him sidelong, a bit of a smile playing across her features.

"It's food, you know. You eat it," she teased good-naturedly.

Steve smiles sheepishly back at the woman before glancing down at his feet. "I know. I just don't know where to start."

Oh, sheepish young humans! One of her favorite things. Smiling wider, she leans over and plucks a sweet out of a tray, offering it to him.

"This is very good, for starters," she says.

Steve accepts it. He doesn't really understand why a pretty girl is offering him sweet but, he won't question it.

"Thank you, Miss."

Because she is nice! She is nice, and also she likes making young men uncomfortable. It's a hobby.

"Ah -- call me Alleria. I won't pay attention otherwise."

She picked the perfect young man for the job. Steve is great at being uncomfortable around women!

"Steve Rogers. It's nice to meet you, Alleria."

Good to know she's still got the touch!

Alleria smiles, absently toying with a loose strand of her hair. "Likewise, Steve. Are you new to this place? I don't think I've seen you before."

Steve nods. "Yes ma- Alleria. I haven't even been here a month yet."

"Truly?" she says, a slight frown taking over her angular features.

"You've yet to experience the horrors this place is capable of, then. Enjoy the festivities while you can, is my advice."

"I'm trying." Steve frowns as well. "Does that mean you've been through them already?" He looks perfectly concerned about that. Steve knows beautiful dames can take of themselves but, that doesn't mean they should have to or anyone else for that matter.

She nods slowly, not at all taking offense to his obvious concern. Females and males are quite equal where she comes from, so it doesn't even cross her mind that he may be concerned for her because she happens to be pretty!

"A few things, yes," she says. "Though not as much as others who are here."
