Happy Diwali [open]
Who: All of Paradisa! That means YOU
What: Feasts and fireworks, oh my!
When: The third day of Diwali; Friday, Oct. 28th
Where: Everywhere (though just the ballroom for the feast)
Rating: Um, not more than PG? This is a family holiday, guys, come on...
Diwali is living up to it’s name today. The lights are everywhere today both outside and in. Stands of candles line the lobby like a temple and lanterns hang from the very ceiling. Everywhere there is light.
Today, however, you can add new smells and sounds to the list as well. Music drifts through the air into the lobby, along with the fragrant, spice filled scents of foods and sweets.

He held off on any concrete opinion for his own, waiting for the next crackle and burst of light against the backdrop of the evening. "Lights in the skies at night are usually bad news," he said, sounding more serious than he was. That was simple fact. Lights could reflect the fires of the horde. Light could be a burning village, town, or city. It could be the chantry exploding outward, reduced to rubble and encasing in stone all the worshipers who had knelt within its haven.
Pretty, dangerous lights.

"I guess my world is pretty different from your world. If there's danger, it's normally not the big 'blows up in the sky' kind of danger."

"Things like this might have been nice for a few. For festivals, or celebrations."

"You should sit down, it's hard to look at you this way."

Then he shifts, bending his knees and holding out a hand to catch himself before lowering the rest of the way. He feels awkward in these pants, wanting his usual clothing back, and stuck with this anyway. I'll figure out how soon that man will be done.
"You could just not look. Save your neck and everything. Neck aches are terrible."

"Although, if you think about it, wouldn't that be handy? If you could close your eyes and they would show up on any other part of your head? So you could look up at someone messing up their neck? But I guess it would be hard to look through your hair..." she shrugged. The idea seemed to have quickly lost its appeal, so she moved on to the next point of interest in the queue of her mind.
"So, what's your name?"

He feels they were perfectly fine where they were, if it hardly seemed like a conversation she was actually attempting to have.
He's a beat slow in responding to her direct question, looking over at her as he replies. "Carver," he says, leaving out his family name. He's more used to it, with the mentality of the Wardens that who you were before wasn't your excuse for who you were now. "Yours?"
no subject
"Nice to meet you Carver, I'm Maya Fey."
