Diwali is living up to it’s name today. The lights are everywhere today both outside and in.  Stands of candles line the lobby like a temple and lanterns hang from the very ceiling. Everywhere there is light.

Today, however, you can add new smells and sounds to the list as well. Music drifts through the air into the lobby, along with the fragrant, spice filled scents of foods and sweets.

[the shadow claw lets go the minute she takes it and sinks back into the ground.]

I never did explain, did I? I'm a shadow as well as a vampire.

[The sparkler burns her again. Not badly enough to do more than sting, and it certainly doesn't leave a mark, but she gives it a look of incredible distaste.]

I'm here and there. It's useful, unless I want to touch something with my own hands.

[Dainn himself finally appears, thankfully in front of Katara for the sake of her nerves. he's not dressed for the occasion but he's drinking something that looks like red wine. hopefully it actually is.]

That's really unnerving, you know.

[There's no malice or scorn in her voice, just simple, amused fact as her sparkler burns out.]

I'm glad to see you survived the castle lockout, though.

[he laughs.] It could be worse, you know. I'm lucky enough that I don't possess normal human organs.

Burning to death isn't exactly how I like spending my time, so I avoided the Sun. It's nice to see that someone worried though..

[Katara takes a seat in the grass, indicating for Dainn to do the same.]

I'm sure that others would worry, too, if they knew.

[She draws her legs to her chest, folding her arms over her knees.]

Mmmm...well, human kind has relied on hope so it's better than nothing at all. But enough of that. This seems like a time when your kind should be happy.
