Hot springs, heck yeah

What: Recovery at the hot springs, with bonus autumn leaves in the water.
When: Afternoon to evening of today (October 1)
Where: Paradisa Onsen! Bet you didn't even know we had one. It's at the border of the forest.

Okay, so he didn't really need to go to the hot springs after his fight with Tex last night, but with the air finally starting to get a bit of a chill, it was as good a day as any to watch the leaves fall and try to cut down on the stress. Sure, York had it pretty easy here, all thigns considered, but he had a hunch some of his friends could use the hot springs, too--so he'd sent out a quick location ping to the others with the same tracking system in their armor and, hopefully, at least a few of them would show up. Of course, he'd be fine with anyone else as well, but he knew for a fact they could use the relaxing.

Wrapping a towel around his waist securely, York slipped into the mens' side of the hot spring before making his way over to the mixed area.

"I"m not an idiot, York."

He knew Wash wasn't--about most things, anyway. But this constant death-seeking had to stop.

"Then stop ignoring me and Kat and common sense when we say death is bad, okay?"

Washington just glared at that comment. "I never said it isn't bad, York."

He snorted.

"Okay, then stop ignoring that part of your brain that says 'don't do bad things'."

That just got a dirty look. "There's a difference between ignoring and knowing there are times when that voice is wrong."

York scowled at the dirty look.

"Look, just. If you get yourself killed for some stupid reason, I'm never going to talk to you again."

"Define stupid reason. I'm pretty sure our views differ there."

[encryptedlock]

He was sorely tempted to say "all reasons are stupid", but there were a couple of exceptions, he had to admit.

"Anything that's not saving the life of someone significantly more helpless than yourself. And I don't mean me. I can take care of myself."

Washington sighed. "I'll try to keep that in mind, York."

York nodded, satisfied for the moment.

"You do that. It'll be easier on both of us, I promise."

Washington tried to relax in the water. It wasn't exactly easy. "I'm sure."

York took a very deep breath and let it out in a sigh. Relax. Right.

"Anyway. Any luck at all and we won't have to deal with anything serious. You got any plans for Halloween?"

"Hoping for the best. Hoping that the damn castle doesn't fuck us over yet again..."

"It's always going to do that, Wash. Hope we can recover quickly and easily, how about?"

"Good point. Very good point."

[encryptedlock]

He sank down into the water a little further.

"And for now, recovering means relaxing."

[dontpatr0nizeme]

"Yes it does. Though seriously? I'm really hating how long it's taking the arm to recover..."

"Well, you could always see a Doctor...."

[dontpatr0nizeme]

Washington grumbled at that. "It's set. It'll heal with time."

[encryptedlock]

York stared at him a little while.

"You really are a masochist, aren't you."

[dontpatr0nizeme]

"I'm not messing with any miracle cures, York."

[encryptedlock]

He tipped his head to one side and crossed his arms.

"Even when they're based in science?"

[dontpatr0nizeme]

Washington growled. "No miracle cures."

[encryptedlock]

York gave the "you're an idiot" sigh and shrugged.

"Your choice, man."

[dontpatr0nizeme]

"Yes, it is. And I'm not playing with miracle cures unless there's no choice."
