Who: Greed [livejournal.com profile] so_many_needs and Gaara [livejournal.com profile] livingsandbox
What: Greed decides to have a "casual" sparring match against Gaara, just to see what the shinobi can do.
When: June 08, Evening
Where: The northernmost area of the forest.
Rating: PG13ish, with possible blood.

Greed was arrived at the appointed place shortly after sending out his message. Maybe some people would come to watch, maybe they wouldn't. Either way, it was time to spar with more than just that Naruto boy. Gaara didn't seem too imposing, but he also seemed a lot more focused than Naruto was. Could it really be that different?

He stopped to pop his joints for a moment, then shoved his hands into his pockets. No need to use the shield QUITE yet, after all.

"Oi, Gaara," he called across to his opponent, "You ready? I'll give you the first shot."

He stared at him for a moment, unblinking. His head tilted just gently in curiosity and he nodded, acknowledging that that could indeed happen - even faster were he not to use the One Tailed demon's powers with his own.

"... That could take a very long time."

He nods, raising some sand up hesitantly simply to have something to do. "I may be, but Shuukaku is not."

"A demon. Much like the Kyuubi." He would normally not have added the last bit, but he remembered him telling him about how everyone had been attacked by it and many knew that it was inside of Naruto.

He stared at him for a moment, before walking away to grab his bag. Pulling out one of the blades, he walked back to him, holding up his wrist. Slicing downwards as though to cut as deeply as possible, his hand turned to sand and crumbled to the ground below, leaving him completely unharmed as his actual hand was seen again when he held up his arm.

"That is Shuukaku."

He watched him silently, deciding whether or not it was 'cool' to harbor a demon. He couldn't really decide so he didn't bother responding to the comment altogether.

"Birth."

After the initial surprise of the comment (which didn't even register being the slightly open mouth stare), Gaara stayed quiet, glaring sternly at Greed to show his lack of amusement.

A long pause because he still was anything but happy.

"They don't."

He was honestly unsure if he could receive hugs or not - no one had ever really tried. He was quite sure if wouldn't feel them if they did, but the thought hadn't stuck with him for too long, nor depressed him too greatly.

"I don't want hugs."

A pause and he nods, "Those are fine."

He wrinkled his forehead gently. "What about them?"

[identity profile] livingsandbox.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"I imagine. If I sleep, it takes over. So I choose to not sleep."

As expected, the shield protected him from such surprise attacks. He sighed in boredom, before shooting two columns of sand towards Greed, hoping to catch him and hold him in them.

He watched him struggle, tilting his head. "... No."

After a moment, he tightens the grip of the sand, though not enough to cause damage. "You could admit defeat. Otherwise this could go on for days."
