Who: Greed
so_many_needs and Gaara
livingsandbox
What: Greed decides to have a "casual" sparring match against Gaara, just to see what the shinobi can do.
When: June 08, Evening
Where: The northernmost area of the forest.
Rating: PG13ish, with possible blood.
Greed was arrived at the appointed place shortly after sending out his message. Maybe some people would come to watch, maybe they wouldn't. Either way, it was time to spar with more than just that Naruto boy. Gaara didn't seem too imposing, but he also seemed a lot more focused than Naruto was. Could it really be that different?
He stopped to pop his joints for a moment, then shoved his hands into his pockets. No need to use the shield QUITE yet, after all.
"Oi, Gaara," he called across to his opponent, "You ready? I'll give you the first shot."

He pulled himself up from where he had been sitting, standing instead near a tree and staring off as he waited for this "Greed" to arrive, his mind wandering some to the information Reno and Naruto had shared with him before hand. This battle could be increasingly interesting, that was fore sure.
His expression didn't change as Greed arrived and shouted to him to begin, a simple nod being given to show his understanding. He was still for only a moment before he used the slightest of hand motions. The sand poured from the gourd on his back, shooting quickly towards Greed with another flick of the wrist.

"Look, Garra," he started, looking at his feet for a moment, "Are you sure y--WHAT THE FUCK!?"
Greed scrambled backward, surprised by the large wave of sand shooting toward him at incredible speed. It writhed toward him like snake, cutting off escapes routes at every pass.
"This is...what the hell is this?!" he yelled, trying to leap away.

After a moment, he paused, the sand hovering towards him though not shooting at him as it had been moments before. He looked at Greed for a moment, before finally speaking.
"Sand." He deadpanned, before adding; "If you are unprepared to fight, I will go back to the castle."

He leapt over the sand and broke into a dash, charging toward Gaara. He'd show this human upstart who the superior fighter was.
"Got somethin' for ya', kid!"
He jumped several meters from his target, aiming to smash into the boy with an aerial roundhouse.

It was seconds before the wall of sand shot up around him, forming an arch that was nearly impossible to penetrate and protecting him from Greed's blow. The automatic shield often made fights like these so uninteresting.
He shot another blast of sand towards him.
"Is that all?"
no subject
"Wha-HEY!" he growled, planting his feet on the doom and pulling at the sandy arm grasping his own, "Leggo', damn it! You're startin' to piss me off!"
He tensed his leg muscles and began to angrily stomp the top of the dome, applying a little more pressure with every foot-fall.
"Ha ha, fine! I'll cave the damned thing in on you!"
no subject
Or perhaps both.
Squeezing his hand together, he waited for the sound of some sign of injury patiently and curiously.
no subject
"Aaaaaah! You asshole!" he snarled, "That...is fucking...it!"
He transmuted the flesh in his uninjured arm and used it to shred through his elbow, severing the destroyed limb. It quickly disintegrated to nothing in Gaara's grasp once it's connection to the main body was gone.
"You wanna' play dirty this early, eh?" Greed grinned, his slitted pupils dilating in response to his excitement. He quickly regenerated the arm and began to change, the energy rolling over his body.
"Let's see ya' deal with this, kid."
no subject
He was much more pleased by this then he was by the pitiful attempts of fighting. The regeneration clearly happened quickly and he wondered if after the arm was severed if it was completely painless.
He would have to ask later.
"Are you harboring a demon?" He was curious if this was where the man got his powers and asked it casually as he continued to attack with the sand from his gourd.
no subject
He batted aside the attacks and charged again, ready to throw a series of punches and kicks once he was within range.
no subject
He continued to control the columns of sand, pushing them forward in attempt to catch Greed in them once again as he charges forward.
no subject
"You're gonna' need stronger attacks, kid. This ain't nothin', as far as I'm concerned."
He tensed his legs and launched himself high into the air, aiming to come down on top of the boy with his armored claws. Choking someone out was usually easier than fighting them to a standstill if there was a chance you couldn't knock them out with one punch.

"Not bad, kid. Guess I should just go for heavy hits, then. No more rabbit punches."
With a guttural growl, he pulled back his right arm, twisted at the waist, and drove the limb straight forward, keeping his hand pointed straight to drill through the sand barriers. He'd see how the little bastard fared with his neck in a vice grip.
no subject
"You are wasting your time," he said finally, knowing full well that even if he made it through he would be fine.
no subject
"You're still human, kid. All I have to do is get a hold of you, and that breakable human body of yours is gonna' get trashed."
He jumped back for a moment, pacing around the mass of sand as he planned his next move.
"Ya' know, the same could be said of you against me, "You may be able to back me up with waves of sand, but you can't get through my shield with somethin' that weak."
no subject
"Hm." It was the only sound to escape him for a moment, his brain whizzing with thought. He could have tapped in to Shuukaku's powers, but the thought of allowing the demon to take over him had been a big no-no since he had ceased his violent existence.
Damn.
"Anything else could be too dangerous."

"... That could take a very long time."

He stared at him for a moment, before walking away to grab his bag. Pulling out one of the blades, he walked back to him, holding up his wrist. Slicing downwards as though to cut as deeply as possible, his hand turned to sand and crumbled to the ground below, leaving him completely unharmed as his actual hand was seen again when he held up his arm.
"That is Shuukaku."
no subject
He leans in to inspect the wrist, noting the lack of slashes.
"When'd you get that little trick?"
no subject
"Birth."
