Who: Everybody willing to pop up
What: A party
When: 9pm EST
Where: The front hall
Rating: Low...
The front hall is bright with rainbows. Fish fly here to there like there's water to support them, and music dances constantly at the edge of hearing in an eerie echo against the walls.
Windows glitter and sparkle and pictures play across them, telling a story about each Endless, all of them opening up to a new world of thought. The front doors are flung open to let the air in, and faerie lights glimmer on all the foliage nearby.
The food is set up against one wall. In the very center is a platter of those little weenies and a slushy machine, but spreading out along both sides are fruits and meats and pastas and lots of chocolate. There's no order to the food, each course mixed in with all the rest.
Delirium stands at the end of the hall in front of the outside doors in a black fishnet dress. The cloth is constantly moving, opening and closing, hiding and revealing. Every thought runs through her mind, and finally settles on...
Please come... please please please...

Maybe that was wrong. He had been sad too. Very sad. But Del had like dhis memories, they were like presents. Del didn't get very many presents her...
"Family was sad. That there was a change. Chane is good. Change is bad. Delirium thinks maybe her change was right. Icky. But the boy. Silly boy. Wanted what was. What is, is better, yes?"
no subject
"Change is... change is how you make it." Their closeness offered a privacy Romeo had yet to confide in, and he did so now, while no one could hear them. One of his fingers toyed idly with a bit of changeable hair. "I used to be a very different person. I rarely spoke, and certainly not my mind. And I was naive.
"But I wanted to be different. I had... dreams, things I wanted so dearly to accomplish... I wanted to show the people who brought me down that I could fly despite them."

Del had met dreamers before, but never dreamers quite like him. She had always loved to wander in Dream's realm, and find people compatible, or interesting, of just lonely. The ones with Despair were always hopeless, but those that visited Dream have a sparkle and glitter that Del liked to watch.
"Del thinks maybe he, and other, can do anything. The meanies were... mean." she smiled at him again, her eyes crinkling a little at the corners.

Romeo's dreaming involved a lot of planning... a lot of innocent dreaming, and also, to an extent, scheming. But those sort of dreams, when they went astray, gave rise to newer better ones-- such as the realization that behind the moon he seemingly worshipped, there was a sky.
A beautiful, pristine... sky.
Her smile brought him back to reality. "I hope so." A charming tilt of his head, and then, "When I am with you, I feel like I can do anything." He drew away, grip on her hand tightening as he spun her around, then return Del to his warm hold. "I am blessed to have such supportive friends."
no subject
"Does he want to know a secret?" She whispered in his ear, just loud enough to be heard over the music.
no subject
"I do," he whispered, breath hitching at the whisper. There was the slightest smile at the corners of his lips, a subtle shiver in his fingertips, which had migrated back to her back.
no subject
She sighed gently across his ear. "So I threw them a party."
no subject
Romeo slowed. Since he brought Del so close after the spin, getting him to take a step back seemed more and more difficult. "This is the greatest party I have ever attended, including my own. Everything is beautiful, especially you, my dear Deli-chan..."
no subject
She slowed with him, her upper body swaying to the music in her head again while the rest of her followed his lead. "Beauty beholder..."

Romeo found her inner chaos endearing sometimes. Part of her still danced to some unhearable music even as he pulled her closer. "Deli-chan... I'm... I'm afraid," he admitted in a voice characteristic of this night, his gaze focused somewhere other than his feet or her eyes-- the door, the fairy lights, anything.

"Why is Blue Lover King scared? Does Del need to talk to the monsters in the closet again? They can be so very naughty..." She tried to catch his eye and make him focus on her, but it just caused the silver fleck in her--blue?--eye to swirl even more.

Romeo's theater-speak was rapidly fading. His warm hand came up to touch the one in his hair, then he left her alone and went back to their easy waltz-grip. "I am afraid of this place... I am afraid of -- of myself. I am afraid that I will find love here, s-somehow, and then forget it, with my heart never having known the difference..."

"Del thinks maybe later doesn't matter if now is happy."
no subject
"Now is happy," he insisted quietly. "But I... I had a similar sort of happiness back home, and..." Romeo and Del came to a gentle halt, the former bowing his head, unable to move otherwise. "I'm so unsure..."
no subject
Harsh. So harsh, seeing the world and speaking so sharply. Bad Del, cut him to pieces. Maybe this one is better all together, the pieces are sharp. Bad Del...
no subject
"Deli-chan," he whispered, his eyes locked on hers at last. "Del..." He looked like he might break at that instant; his voice was laced with things like incredulity and self-hatred. "I think I'm in love with you."
There's something to think about.
no subject
"That's the spot... It's gentle and quite and Del always wanted a reason to be in there, but it's next the the cruel spot and so avoid it don't get squished. But Del always wanted to be there. Swirlies were pastel. Touched Dream's realm. Dreamers visiting in love. Shouldn't be angry." She was confusing herself now. Aggravating herself. She felt herself falling into pieces, and her physical body started to break into fishies in response.
She looked at him, eyes very wide as she struggled to be put together, coherent. "Tempus Frangit. Delirium is very broken. I..." She gestured with her fingers, as they dissolved into decorations that flew away a little more.

He understood, somewhat, that Del liked being liked, but if she liked him back-- to what extent? They-- they had no future, not here, not in this place of awful forgetting and losing and taking and -- god!
"Forgive me," Romeo murmured, letting go of Delirium and stepping away. "I have-- I-- I messed up." He was about two seconds from bolting for the door.

Going... He was going and she was all in pieces and he was all in pieces and she couldn't come all back together 'cause she was broken broken broken. Don't don't...
"Go...? Where is he go... Leaving why is he... he went and it's cuz Del came to pieces its all..." Her fault. All her fault. They people were yelling and it was loud and nobody said anything and it was all her fault cuz she was broken and I'm sorry... I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry. Bad broken Del. Bad. Bad peices...
I'm sor- "-ry... I'm sorry don't, bad Del. Del didn't mean to she's sorry. She broke him pieces bad Del badDelbadDelbadDel! I'm sorry don't be ad at Del I'm sorry sorry sorrysorrysorry..." She trailed of, sniffling some more and watched him as she hair shifted and shortened.
no subject
His voice barely rose above a whisper. "Deli-chan..." He was so horribly broken without him there, that was obvious. How could he leave? How could he leave anyone like that? Romeo wasn't a coward. He just wasn't.
"It's not your fault," he struggled, rubbing at his nose. "You did nothing wrong. You never could."
no subject
She poked her fingers together, not looking at him anymore. She was nervous and sad and confused but he wasn't leaving anymore and that was good, right?
"Del didn't mean to do it wrong so does he want to come back and have chocolate or cake or mango slushie or fish...?"
He wouldn't stay because of pity, right? He'd stay because of food, or because he wanted to...
Right?

Now, the drama king crossed the floor between them quickly. He took those nervous, steepled fingers into his warm hands and kissed them a hundred times in sweet, solemn apology. "I would never leave you, Deli-chan. Never. I would find a way back to you somehow. I'll always find a way back to you, just as my other friends..." He was silent for a moment. "Don't be sad anymore. I'm sorry."
no subject
She laced their fingers together and started pulling him gently toward the table full of food. "Celebrate~"

The first thing he raided? Chocolate cake.~ It was only then that he realized people he knew-- or didn't know-- had arrived.

"Del has to introduce. Be back? Promise. Meet and greet~" She smiled at him, wiggling her fingers a little in goodbye as she started to slide off to greet the newest guests.
