[Originally, Rookie had planned on spending the morning outside today to enjoy the fresh air, but decided against it when recalling the piles of leaves that were still littering the castle's grounds. Having no real interest in wasting the duration of his afternoon with plucking foliage out of his armor - as that usually tended to be how his evenings were spent once he returned indoors - the ODST could instead be found sprawled out in a nice little corner of Paradisa's lobby with the journal purposely propped open over his helmet.

Luckily for those listening, however, it wasn't snoring that was being transmitted over the pages today.]

Hey. Been meaning to bring this up, but I have some technology for you guys to check out. Grabbed it back when we all got separated during the expedition. Not sure if any of you would actually be interested in it though, seeing as a lot of it's broken, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention.

[Once that was said and done, Rookie gave a soft sigh before moving on to the next two filters. Since he may as well cover all his bases while he was doing the whole journal thing.]

[Haaaaai little bud.

He gives a small 'oof' when he feels that weight, before he's leaning his head up to get a view on who - or what - it was that suddenly decided to invade his personal space.]

Oh. It's you again. [Raising a hand to try and pet Toothless, grinning.] Still up to no good?

[A little surprised croon rolls out of the little nightfury as he's petted, his reaction being immediately pulling his body out from under the hand and turning around to gnaw on a finger with his gums.]

[Rookie chuckles, curling the finger so Toothless would mostly be gnawing on his knuckle before he was lightly pressing the dragon's nose with a thumb. There was no pressure, however, and it was more intended to be a playful gesture than anything else.]

You trying to tell me you're hungry?

[A playful sort of growl comes from the dragon as he tugs a bit on the finger.]

[Perhaps playing tug of war with his finger may not be the best idea he's ever had, but Rookie will pull back a little to give the dragon some resistance anyway.]

[Another playful whine escapes Toothless as he tugs back some more. Really, so as long Rookie doesn't pull too much, he's in no danger of dislocating his finger.]

[Dislocation wasn't what he was worried about - it was losing it completely.

But he'll chuckle anyway and gently shake his finger back and forth a few more times, before wishing up an actual fish-shaped toy. Which, just so happens, ends up dropping right next to the dragon.]

[TOOTHLESS DROPS ON IT LIKE IT'S HOT. And then proceeds to thrash around a little before falling over onto his back and pawing at it with his legs, all sorts of little playful growls and grumbles coming from him all the while.]

[STOP BEING SO CUTE. You're going to ruin his reputation as the badass space marine. Or what little of it he has left.

He'll just prop an elbow up on his knee, though, and watch Toothless with a grin. Casually resting his helmet in the palm of his hand as he did so.]
