[When faced with dealing with a bad breakup, some people mope and cry. Others finish off whole pints of ice cream in one sitting. Julia, however, has chosen a more constructive outlet. For the past few hours at least, she's commandeered a table at the Paradisa Perk to write a letter venting out all of her feelings regarding Gwaine and the entire situation.

Which is all fine and good, except for one small detail. She has accidentally started writing parts of the very rough draft of this letter into the journal.]

You lied to me. You betrayed me. Do you know how much that hurts? I'm sure you can't even begin to understand how much. For what you did, I should never speak to you again. No, I should never forgive you. I thought you'd never hurt me like that. I can't look at you the same way ever again. I can't trust you anymore. I can't be with someone I can't trust.

[The pen pauses.]

But there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss you. All I want is to hear the sound of your voice again. To wake up next to you. To let you call me your queen. I don't want to think about it, but it's all I can think about. I want for you to come back to me. Without you, there's a hole in my life I can't fill.

I lov--

[The writing suddenly stops.

... Yes, Paradisa. You now have front-row seats to something intensely personal that was never meant to be seen by anyone. It doesn't matter that the one who put it there is now frantically trying to scratch everything out. The damage has already been done.]

[[OOC: Friends loss! Anyone remember the 18-page letter that Rachel wrote to Ross and he fell asleep reading? This is something like that.]]

at least someone does. mal doesn't.

[He needed booze and he needed it now.]

Woman, I'm embarrassed as it is. Figure you could use a hug.

[From the thicker quality of his writing it's obvious he's pressing a bit harder on the paper. He can feel the heat collecting against his collar.]

It ain't like I offer it much. Just. Nevermind.

...I was thinking the bar but coffee is more sociable, ain't it? [Hey, seems like they could both use some alcohol. It always worked for him. Well. No. It didn't always work for him and adding spirits would be a miserable thing.]

Sure. I can do that.

[Don't worry; he will allow you to stay ladylike while you're drowning your woes in non-dairy creamer. He's not sure how he got wrangled into this, not really. You could say It all happened So Fast - you know, similar to those kids on the news that had a cow go missing in a tornado.]

Just look for the tall brunet looking like he lost a bit of his dignity today.
'snot your fault though. I'm more than happy to be of assistance.

[Hopefully he'll look extra tall, brunet, and regretful because it's not past him that he doesn't have a clue who this girl is]

[He closed the book with a rather final sounding huff, tucking it against the inside of his coat pocket - he'd wished himself a cousin to the one he lost on arrival. Might as well. It would find itself on him somehow.

There was usually a fair amount of folk wandering about the lobby. Usually. Today produced only a few unfamiliar faces. Now, let's pluck the adorable Captain from his confused state and give him some coffee and he'll return the distraction.]

[Women trying to get his attention rarely came in such polite fashion. Usually they'd shoot at him or try to poison him. Really, it's no wonder he's a single man. However, he's guessing that waving blonde in the corner may be his ticket, offering her a rather lopsided grin in greeting. Poor baby is so unsure of himself.

He made his way over, awkward duckling he is, taking a seat across from her; clearing his throat. This is like online dating, only it isn't. At all. No, he doesn't realize this woman is one of those that greeted him the first time he got to Paradisa. Probably shuffled it from his headspace.]

Hello, er. I didn't catch your name -- between me making a fool of myself and all...

[identity profile] hotforhooker.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Goodness; they have things in common then. Maybe it's a good thing neither of them are meeting in bad terms. Well, they could be better -- She seems friendly enough though for a lass missing some random man. Something strangely familiar about that name. ...common name though.]

Just call me Mal. I didn't scare you much with the bad attempt to comfort, now did I? [Because small talk is not his forte, either]

[identity profile] hotforhooker.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's probably for the better that she doesn't remember him. He's already got enough against him that a yelling, pantless cowboy didn't need to be included. Her response caused him to snort flatly, mildly adding:] Don't believe you much. Allow me to make it up for the both of us though.

[He was subtly wishing for some coffee of his own which was subtly delivered; clearly the man's still not used to just asking and getting things]

It's weird - I'm never gonna feel like it's fair to be able to just wish for something and have it. Maybe I'm old fashioned though...

Slowest of Slow

[He gave his coffee a cautionary sip to hide the frown] I know it's been more than a month but my sense of time got all sorts of discombobulated. You'd think I'd be keeping a prison tally on the walls by now.

That's tooootally debatable. Let's have a slow-off.

[identity profile] hotforhooker.livejournal.com 2011-12-16 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[there's the slightest hint of a smile] Got my girls here; makes it more bearable I think. [a pause] Anyone you knew from --
Well, home, that got stuck here with you?

(PS: Remember Doug? His older sister Judy? Yeah, she looks like a blonde Judy in that icon. I cannot unsee.)

[color him curious] D'you think I've met them?

I'll raise you another.

[identity profile] hotforhooker.livejournal.com 2011-12-20 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
You're smiling... [snorting, he took a drink, eyeing the blonde over his coffee.] Go on now. Don't leave a man in suspense.

third time's a right ol' charm

[he was almost pouting-- but truth be told he liked her playing coy over heartbroken]

Good or bad?

[AND NOW HE IS. Pouting, that is.]

And here I thought I would remind you of someone that was all sunshine and daisies. Consider myself disappointed. [casual sip a'hmph]
