[Galadriel (or Artanis, as she now thinks of herself) suddenly found herself in a room that was totally unfamiliar to her. What’s even stranger is that she had no memory of how she got there. She finds the journal fairly quickly and flips through it, but it does little to assuage her fears.

When she dictates, it’s not the calm, practiced dictation of Galadriel (although there are hints of it in there), but rather the voice of a frightened young girl, trying to sound far more intimidating than she is capable of being.]

I know not who brought me here, nor why, but know that my father and my brothers will not stand for this. I am Artanis, daughter of the High King Finarfin. If you release me immediately, they may be persuaded to show you mercy.

[With that she tucks the journal under her arm and sets out to explore, first the room she arrived in, and then the castle. Unlike on her initial exploration, however, her movements are slightly hesitant, timid, and more obviously marked by fear. ]

[ooc: She will be running into Rin in their shared room, I believe, but after that will be roaming the castle. Feel free to encounter the mini-elf or to answer her over the journal.]

You just got here? [She smiles at the girl. There's something very familiar about her speech patterns, but she can't seem to place it quite, yet.]

I'm Phoebe. Would you like me to tell you about this place?

Well met, Phoebe. I am called Artanis. [She smiles back and gives a little curtsy, still a little unnerved, but polite enough.] I would be most grateful for any aid you would give me.

Well, to start with- do you have any questions? [She smiles sweetly]

[She thinks for a moment.] I sense a great force in this place. It has brought me here, that is proof enough of its strength. But is it wont to do more?

[...yeah. She's older than she looks.]

It is. We all lose things when we come here, some lose a memory, some lose an item. I lost the ability to do something. It also has the power to make us think that we're something other than what we are... or act differently.

[a pause. The wheels, they are aturnin] You sound a lot like someone I know, here. Where do you come from?

I have noticed nothing. [Because she doesn't have the object it has taken yet.]

I hail from Valinor, the Undying Lands, in Arda, as do all my kin.

[That gives her pause as she stares at the girl for a moment. Oh, man. Now that she's looking for it... the pieces all fall into place.]

Galadriel?!

[Oh, man. This is getting frustrating. She shakes her head and gives a little huff.]

I am Artanis, sometimes called Nerwen. I should most like to know this "Galadriel," for I have heard her name many times since my arrival. It is even in this book I have found. [Holds out her journal. Did Galadriel ever tell you that her husband gave her that name?]

[Her suspicions confirmed, she smiles warmly] I'm very sorry, Artanis. I must have you confused with someone else. Forgive me?

Of course. As I said, you are not the first to have made mention of her; the resemblance must be great indeed.

It is. If it makes any difference, we're comparing you to a great lady. [she smiles warmly]

[Oh, Phoebe. She'll be so tickled when she remembers this latter.] I am flattered, then.

[Hey, it's true!] I'm glad. Hey, have you been outside, yet? The gardens are pretty... even if they are covered in leaves, right now.

[She shakes her head.] I should certainly like to, however.

I can show you. It's right this way. [She starts in that direction, glancing back to make sure Artanis is following her]

[She's totally following, but probably not for long. She moves quickly, so most likely she'll end up walking alongside Phoebe.]

[She would expect nothing less. She smiles down at her as she opens the front door, leading them towards the garden]

[You're not going to get very far leading her outside, though. Because as soon as she gets a clear view of the sky, she's going to stop in her tracks and stare in wonder and awe, letting out an audible little gasp.

She's never seen the sun or the moon before, you'll have to forgive her.]

[Whoa. Where'd her shadow go? She turns and sees Gala-- Artanis staring at the sky. She cocks her head to one side]

Are you okay?

I am simply wonderful. [The words come out rather breathless.] What is it?

[slightly confused] What is what?

[Points toward that big, round, bright object in the sky.] That! Never have I seen its like; it shines as Telperion or Laurelin.

[She glances up, then back down at Artanis]

The sun? To start with, honey, don't stare at it like that or you'll hurt your eyes. You haven't seen anything like it, before?

[She may bristle a bit at "honey"- not used to being called pet names like that. But it doesn't last long; she's too in awe at the sun. She tears her eyes away and glances back at Phoebe.]

I have not. I am reminded of the light of the Two Trees.
